[I hope this image below sticks]
"found
the bullet which allegedly killed the President."
See below.
I have never heard of anyone referring to bullet fragments as a "bullet."
I have heard people refer to a "slug" or "bullet" when describing a bullet, and to "shrapnel" or "fragment," when referring to such, at the gun range.
Moreover, the memo refers to "the bullet," singular. Not "bullet fragments."
Interesting side note, regarding the author of this memo:
"During J. Edgar Hoover’s tenure leading the bureau, the FBI maintained a strict hiring standard that required special agents to be either qualified accountants or graduates of a recognized law school. Alex Rosen, who joined the FBI in the 1930s and served as the Assistant Director of the General Investigative Division during the 1960s, met these criteria as a credentialed attorney."
Does a senior FBI official, holding a law degree, refer to bullet fragments as "the bullet"? Seems unlikely.
Does this 11.22 FBI memo refer to Landis finding a whole slug or bullet in the limo? Possible.
