Gunman on the steps... or filmmaker?

The Moorman photo shows this fellow on the bottom step, closest to the president when he passes by...
Was he filming, or using a modified pistol/rifle-made-to-look-like-a-camera with sound and flash suppressor?
Were the two behind him false witnesses?
Does he act shocked and then run because he had to quickly dispose of his pistol/rifle-made-to-look-like-a-camera?

Dear "Blow It Up Some More" Maxwell,

How much does Vladimir Putin pay you, anyway?

There are much clearer Muchmore still frames showing that guy wearing the plaid shirt on the bottom step. Those will answer your questions.

From Muchmore...
Whatever he is holding, it looks like it's pointed at the president (photo slightly enhanced with barrel end)...

The man in question isn't "holding" anything, as we can see when viewing the Muchmore film in motion. The man is merely applauding the President.

Why does Jake Maxwell see guns and rifles in virtually every single Dealey Plaza image? ~big shrug~

It's important to look at each frame individually and closely... and more than one copy...
If the images below don't raise a person's investigative curiosity... I can't help...
