The man in question isn't "holding" anything, as we can see when viewing the Muchmore film in motion. The man is merely applauding the President.

Why does Jake Maxwell see guns and rifles in virtually every single Dealey Plaza image? ~big shrug~

It's important to look at each frame individually and closely... and more than one copy...
If the images below don't raise a person's investigative curiosity... I can't help...

The man is wearing a watch!  He cannot fire a gun when he was clapping his hands, as we clearly see in the Muchmore film?!!!
Jake, give it up!  You make yourself look more and more like a fool with your every thread!

There's 2 issues regarding these 3 men on the Muchmore Film. (1) Willis 5 shows Only 2 men standing here. And the 2 men are both wearing Dark Slacks.
 (2) The NIX Film for roughly 5 frames shows a man wearing a White Shirt moving Up-The Steps. None of these 3 men is wearing only a White Shirt. (The Original NIX Film has been "lost" for decades).

This fellow would have had the very best shot in the Plaza...

I'm willing to concede that this fellow was possibly clapping his hands for the president...
However, the degradation of the Moorman photo and the images that almost look added, perhaps to confuse the viewer, need a better answer than poor photography.
The image below strongly suggests a barrel of some sort...
Perhaps it was added - like the thumbprint was added - to cover over and confuse the viewer... (and the degradation of the photo was intended to obscure identities?)...

Like I said, there are far better Muchmore Film copies/still frames available. Whatever your source for the images you are posting, you need to ditch it.

The image I just posted is from the Moorman photo... a very good scan relatively speaking...
The Muchmore frames I posted earlier are 720p...
If you've got a better copy available, please post a link... I'm not sure there's one out there... but maybe... I like to see everything available...
