So you're saying Rather was forced to repeat inaccurate reporting and still was made CBS Prime Time News Anchor? Your bolstering my position. Rather held serious leverage.
Storing,
The network HAD to take Rather's WORD for what he thought he'd SEEN.
He honestly told the NATION what he THOUGHT he'd seen in the Zapruder film, but he was WRONG.
How could he CORRECT himself if he HONESTLY thought that that's WHAT he'd SEEN?
GIVEN the FACT that the assassination was so CONFUSING and so CONTROVERSIAL from DAY ONE (basically because no one realized that Oswald had fired his first, missing-everything shot before Zapruder resumed filming, and with the muzzle of his short-rifle inside the building), why SHOULDN'T the network make him one of its news anchors?
The JFKA made him FAMOUS, although he was grossly WRONG in what he THOUGHT he'd seen!!!!!
D'oh!
