Dan Rather, HIMSELF, admitted that he made a lot of MISTAKES in those broadcasts.

He EXPLAINED that he made them because he'd ONLY been able to watch the traumatic clip ONE time, he wasn't able to take NOTES, and that he then had to RUN several blocks to the STUDIO and relate what he'd "seen" to the NATION.

Rather also said the Zapruder Film he watched that weekend showed Gov Connally being "HIT" in the chest when Connally was facing the TSBD. And he also reported seeing a SS Agent in the JFK Limo holding/talking onna phone. (1) The turn onto Elm St, (2) Gov Connally being "HIT" in the Chest, and (3) The Phone. 3 different points in time, ALL 3 NOT on the Current Zapruder Film. So Rather got ALL of this wrong and somehow became the CBS News Prime Time Anchor? Obviously, Rather was holding some serious leverage.

AFTER his note-less, virtually out-of-breath, ERROR-filled FIRST broadcast, he had to KEEP SAYING basically the same GARBAGE in his FOLLOWING ones.

The network HAD to take Rather's WORD for what he thought he'd SEEN.

He honestly told the NATION what he THOUGHT he'd seen in the Zapruder film, but he was WRONG.

How could he CORRECT himself if he HONESTLY thought that that's WHAT he'd SEEN?

GIVEN the FACT that the assassination was so CONFUSING and so CONTROVERSIAL from DAY ONE (basically because no one realized that Oswald had fired his first, missing-everything shot before Zapruder resumed filming, and with the muzzle of his short-rifle inside the building), why SHOULDN'T the network make him one of its news anchors?

The JFKA made him FAMOUS, although he was grossly WRONG in what he THOUGHT he'd seen!!!!!

Who could have PLAUSIBLY accused him of "incompetence" regarding what he THOUGHT he'd seen when he watched the TRAUMATIC clip at normal speed just one time?

Did anyone OTHER than Rather report so early what THEY thought they'd seen in the clip?
