Trump just told the West Point graduates to avoid marrying trophy wives. Just the sort of advice new young officers need to hear when joining the military. But, it was his only statement where he spoke from the heart, based on personal experience.

What is more important?  Something sarcastic like that or sending them off to fight and die in endless foreign wars like Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq?  Trump is the only modern president to keep us out of these foreign conflicts.

Yes, I was surprised in some recent reading at the extent to which the US entry into both WW1 and WW2 was highly unpopular with large numbers of Americans. There was widespread speculation that Pearl Harbor was known about with enough advance warning to stop it but that it was allowed to occur to jolt the public out of its isolationist apathy.

There is some happy medium between the isolationist fantasy and the fantasy that the US can be the entire free world's military, policeman and peacekeeper. The Ukraine war can be argued and debated from almost every angle.

I was surprised today to see that in the comments section on FOX News the sentiment has shifted from "Walk away, it's not our problem" to "Nuke Russia now!" It was really quite dramatic. I'm having a difficult time understanding what Putin gains by forcing Trump's hand as he seems to be doing.

I feel sure it has something to do with Tennent Bagley, Bruce Solie and that KGB mole thing ...

No, Comrade Payette. The KGB may have penetrated the you-know-what out of Britain and France, et al., but it never, never, never, ever, ever penetrated the CIA and the FBI until Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen "went bad"! To think otherwise is just Golitsyn-and-Angleton "sick think" and paranoia! Heck, the KGB* is a world-class humanitarian organization compared to the evil, evil CIA, and regardless, WE WON THE COLD WAR!!!
