Yup. The vaccines are coming fast. But the virus can spread even faster, if we let our guard down, as it appears much of the United States has started to do. During the holidays, the virus doubled in certain states every two weeks. We are not going to nearly double the number of vaccines given in the next two weeks, I can tell you that.

Now we have a Trump stooge AG in Texas threatening to sue the city of Austin for keeping mask mandates in place. The elected officials in Austin are trying to save lives and Republicans want more people to get sick and die. The GOP is not "Pro Life". Remember, this is the same clown who took up Trump's bogus "election fraud" lawsuit hoping to get a pardon from his own crimes.

Critical question. On any upcoming trial in Georgia, would a jury be sitting in judgment?

I would imagine yes. If so, getting a conviction of Trump is pretty problematic, regardless of the evidence. All that is needed is for one MAGA person to get on the jury. If one juror prevents the conviction of Trump, they become a big hero. New employment opportunities will open up for them.

The prosecution will try to weed them out. But the defense will try just as hard to get a few in. That is all they need. And prospective jurors can lie during the jury selection process. And even if the prosecution is 100% successful in identifying bad jurors, the prosecution would have to get its way 100% of the time. It just doesn’t sound likely.

I think it would be about as hard to get a conviction of Trump in the 2020’s as it was to get a Civil Rights murder conviction in the Deep South in the 1960’s. Pretty hard, even if you have a very strong case.

The jury system prevents the possibility of the elite from gaining a strangle hold on the people, but we pay a penalty for it.

Paxton has been under felony indictment since 2015.  He belongs in prison.
