That is just speculation (your favorite word) based on political bias.  Invent a time machine to prove it.  Maybe if the Chinese had been more forthcoming there would have been fewer deaths.  Some deaths could undoubtedly have been saved absent the incompetence of politicians like Andrew Cuomo. Forcing nursing homes to accept individuals with the virus was effectively mass murder.  About one-third of US deaths were in NY and NJ.

If Criminal Donald didn't praise China 15 times for their failures to act on the virus and if he implemented a national COVID strategy we wouldn't have 498,000 deaths.

Criminal Donald knew about COVID-19 since November 2019 and was briefed twice in January 2020 that COVID would be a major health disaster. He did nothing preparing Americans for what was to come. He totally ignored it and did nothing. Called it a "Democrat hoax" on February 28th, 2020 in front of his deranged lunatic cult. Had his administration in early March lie about the virus. They said it was "contained", "low risk", "won't come here"......all b.s. lies. He didn't declare a national emergency until mid March when the virus was exploding throughout New York and all major cities. Then he along with the right wing media lied and downplayed the threat of the virus every step of the way. They lied about testing and suppressed covid tests while weakening the CDC to protect Criminal Donald. DeathSantis in Florida covered up the deaths and the health crisis. Criminal Donald decimated nursing homes and deregulated them. They are the mass murderers who need to all be in prison for what they did.               

Texas and Florida have the most infections and deaths in the last 6 months. 

Thanks to President Biden the death total and infection rate has significantly dropped. There was less than 1,000 deaths for the first time and only 52,000 infections. 1.7 to 2 million vaccine shots are being administered each day. That's what real leadership does.

Biden's new COVID plan was inacted on Day 1 and each day the number of vaccinations have grown up to 2 million.

President Biden ramped up the vaccinations by nearly 2 million and secured 600 million of doses to vaccinate every American. Criminal Donald passed on securing more doses and the number of vaccinations under him was dismal.     

The cases under Trump were steadily high for an entire year. The numbers did start to go down when stay at home orders were in place and we saw major improvements. Trump had nothing to do with that because it was the Governors  that issued those orders. When things were looking up, Trump and his cult started demanding the country to be opened up and staged his first insurrection in Michigan when his lunatics stormed the Capitol and demanded the state to be opened up. Ever since then, the virus took over and decimated our country because it was opened up prematurely. All the graphs show the facts and I've posted those months ago.
