PGA Slams Door On Trump

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/pga-slams-door-on-trump/vi-BB1cEwLT?ocid=msedgntp

Quote
Days after the Capitol riot, the PGA has stripped President Donald Trump’s New Jersey golf club of hosting the 2022 championship.

This is something of a big deal. Each year, around the world, there are four majors. In most years held in the following month:

Masters – Augusta Georgia (April)
PGA Championship – various locations in the U. S. (May)
U. S. Open – various locations in the U. S. (June)
The Open Championship – various link courses in Great Britain (July)

The greatest of a modern golfer is measured by the number of majors he was won. Jack Nicklaus -18. Tiger Woods 15. Everyone else – nowhere close.

This was one of the things on the Calendar that Trump was looking forward to. But not anymore. Good for the PGA. Although, this is a classic no brainer.

A Trump spokesman said that the PGA has no legal right to do this.

Time for Giuliani to extend his losing streak. Or maybe not.

I cannot imagine the New York State Bar Association failing to disbar him.

Forbes Editor Warns Companies Not to Hire Kayleigh McEnany and Other Trump 'Fabulists'

https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/forbes-editor-warns-companies-not-to-hire-kayleigh-mcenany-and-other-trump-fabulists/ar-BB1cEelr?ocid=msedgntp

Quote
Forbes magazine's chief content officer delivered a stark warning to companies that might consider hiring Kayleigh McEnany, Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other former spokespeople in the Trump White House: Do so and risk losing all credibility given their history of perpetuating "lies-upon-lies, repeated frequently and fervently" on behalf of the president. And what better way to punish those spreaders of untruth than by warning the businesses who hire them in the future?

"Let it be known to the business world: Hire any of Trump's fellow fabulists above, and Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie," Forbes Chief Content Officer Randall Lane wrote in a piece published Thursday. "We're going to scrutinize, double-check, investigate with the same skepticism we'd approach a Trump tweet. Want to ensure the world's biggest business media brand approaches you as a potential funnel of disinformation? Then hire away."

Yes, it is becoming Stalinist.  Media censorship of dissent -  check.  Punish those who have contrary views - check.   I never thought that I would see liberals celebrate censorship and McCarthy like persecution of Americans for their political views.  It is a sad and frightening day.

Arizona Republican committee is debating a proposal to censure Cindy McCain, wife of the late GOP Sen. John McCain

The Republican committee in Arizona's most populous county considered censuring Cindy McCain, the widow of the late GOP Sen. John McCain, according to The Arizona Republic.

Cindy McCain was a prominent Republican supporter of President-elect Joe Biden's 2020 campaign against President Donald Trump.

"I am a proud lifelong Republican and will continue to support candidates who put country over party and stand for the rule of law," she tweeted on Jan. 9.

Trump to award Bill Belichick the Medal of Freedom amid House impeachment push

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/01/10/trump-to-award-bill-belichick-the-medal-of-freedom-amid-house-impeachment-push-457248

If this promise has been made to Trump it must be rescinded, immediately. Or Robert kraft must overrule it, immediately. Or if all else fails, Roger Goodell must step in.

This would be much, much worse than Kraft’s visits to a massage parlor. Much worse than losing Tom Brady.

The “Patriots” would become a dumpster fire. Belichick must change his mind. Kraft must stop this, even with a threat of firing him. Roger Goodell would be fired if he fell asleep on this.

Coaches would refuse to shake Belichick’s hand. The protests of the opposing players, the protests of the Patriot players, can only be imagined. Every road game would be like playing in Seattle. Star players would want out.

If Belichick initially said he would accept this medal, could he be forgiven? As long as he changes his mind yes. Maybe he was just too focused on football.
Trump: I would like to give you this metal.
Belichick: I need to focus on Miami.
Trump: I understand, but could you accept it.
Belichick: Sure. Now can I get back to Miami?

Forbes is a private company and can do what it wants.

The Hollywood industry of the 1940’s and 1950’s should not have blacklisted actors and writers. But what made that very different, from the Forbes case, was that Congress put the pressure on Hollywood to do this.

It would be different if some committee in Congress put pressure on Forbes to do this. But this is not the case. But even if they did, I wouldn’t condemn them too much. It's not like Paul Robeson, Richard Attenborough, Humphrey Bogart and Burl Ives launched an assault on Congress and trashed the place.

Capitol Police Chief to the National Guard: Can I get some National Guard troops to help guard the Capitol on January 6?
National Guard to Capitol Police Chief: Yes, I guess so.
Capitol Police Chief to the Sergeant of the Senate: The National Guard said they can send me troops to guard the Capitol on January 6. Is that OK?
Sergeant of the Senate to the Capitol Police Chief: No.
Capitol Police Chief to the Sergeant of the Senate: Why not?
Sergeant of the Senate to the Capitol Police Chief: Because you didn’t say mother may I.

It appears that Trump did not drain all the swamps in Washington like he promised us.

If General Marshall organized our military in this fashion, we would have got our butts whipped in World War II.

Eisenhower to the General Staff: Can I have more landing craft?
Eisenhower to the Director of Manufacturing: Can you build more landing craft and have them finished by April 1944?
Eisenhower to the Navy: Can you ship across the Atlantic and escort those landing craft that I hope are built to arrive by May 1994?
Eisenhower to the American commander of the Naval in the British Isles: Can I have those landing craft shipped from Liverpool to off the beaches of Normandy by June 4?

In the future there must be on man responsible for the protection of the Capitol. The Capitol Police Chief. No one can say no to his requests when it comes to protecting his buildings. And he only answers to the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader. No one else, not even the President, can overrule him on these matters.
