Well, I did not post this here; it was an old post from the EF-JFKA.

However, it still is true. Modern guns can and do smoke, depending on ammo, and snub-nose .38s were the default concealed weapon of 1963, and a hand-gun that delivered lots of smoke and noise. Ammo for .38s, then and now, was often "hand-packed" to save money, meaning a smokey brand could be used.

Not one, but two law enforcement officers (DPD'er Smith and Sheriff Weitzman) said they met a Secret Service agent flashing credentials in the GK area in the immediate aftermath of the JFKA, yet the Secret Service says they had no one on the GK, and no other person has come forward and said, for example,  "That was me on the GK. I had an FBI badge that looks like a SS badge."

OK, what are the odds both Weitzman and Smith hallucinated the SS-badge waving man? In the exact area where many witnesses say they heard a shot and a smoke cloud? That seems like a long-shot, no?

I have reasonable doubts about the WC narrative.

The official HSCA narrative, that there was a gunsel on the GK, makes more sense.

A gunsel on the GK means a conspiracy.

Maybe the CIAers and the KGBers were so furiously perping a damsel I mean gunsel in the bushes that it created smoke!!!

I see two problems with this scenario:

One, the HSCA's acoustical evidence shows there is a nearly 100% probability there was a rifle shot from the grassy knoll. Try as they did, the NRC panel could only reduce that probability down to 77.7%, and even then they did so only by introducing two outright errors into their calculations.

Two, the HSCA finding that the grassy knoll shot missed was forced into the final report by Blakey, who trusted Dr. Baden to tell him the truth when he asked Baden if there was any medical evidence of a shot from the front.

Since then, a number of medical experts have found strong evidence of a frontal shot in the autopsy skull x-rays, and of course we now know that, contrary to the HSCA report, numerous witnesses at the autopsy saw a large right-rear head wound, the same wound that the Dallas doctors and nurses described. We further know from OD measurements that the skull x-rays indicate a substantial amount of missing bone in the right-rear part of the skull.

We should keep in mind that the two Parkland nurses who cleaned the large head wound and packed it with gauze said the wound was in the right-rear part of the head, and that the three morticians who reassembled the skull after the autopsy also said they saw a large wound in the right-rear part of the head. It boggles the mind to try to imagine how all five of these medical personnel, who actually handled the skull, could have mistaken a wound above the right ear for a wound several inches farther back that included part of the occiput. In fact, mortician Tom Robinson specified that there was a visible hole in the back of the head even after it had been reconstructed, and that further reconstruction was necessary to conceal it.

Also, it is therefore not surprising that we also now know that one of the biggest disagreements between radiology consultant Dr. Gerald McDonnel and FPP member Dr. James Weston involved the direction of the shot as indicated by the skull x-rays.

I should add that given the integrity and courage that Blakey displayed when he was faced with the acoustical evidence, I believe he may well have changed his mind about the grassy knoll shot missing if he had been aware of the medical evidence of a right-frontal shot to the head.

MTG-

I could never make heads or tails of the acoustics evidence, and have no idea what anyone is talking about. I heard the tape, and it is a series of clicks.

There are problems with every scenario. For example, if JFK was struck from the GK, why an "exit wound" in the right rear lower portion of his skull?

If JFK was struck from the front, how did bullets pass through the limo windshield? The HSCA sent a guy to look at the windshield, and he saw no through-and-through hole.

If JFK was only struck from the rear (my view, btw), why the "back and to the left" motion of JFK's head?

Why did the Connallys report no gunshot from the front?

The HSCA seemed satisfied JFK was struck from the rear, although having doubts about Baden is justified.

I strongly suspect the cadence of shots is what matters, which was too-rapid for a lone gunsel armed with a single-shot-per-bolt-action rifle.

The "Secret Service" man on the GK flashing a SS credentials at not one, but two, law enforcement officers...remains totally unexplained by the LNT'ers, or the WC, or the HSCA for that matter. That defies the imagination.
