It seems that anyone and everyone that supplied information of a contradictory nature to the official story was by declaration... "demented" in some way :-\
Dementia dominates memory in later stages but does not cause people to lie. 4 PM EST maybe? A slip of the tongue?

I believe O'Donnell's son when he generously, I think, put it that his father suffered from onset dementia.

Now tell us the son could have been a CIA "asset".

CIA? See? Wandering off on a tangent. I know that the source of the O'Donnell was lying blurb came from none other than Dale Myers. We must take his word for what the O'Donnell family told him
Myers buzzed back around the Tippit family too soon after it was revealed in Joe McBride's  book "Into the Nightmare" that the father of the slain cop reported strange things concerning his son's murder. He must have been demented, Myers concluded...after all he was 90 yrs old and his family thought so.
Again...lying is not a result of a dementia condition. Sure it is hard to remember stuff and put things in order.
Some but not all of it is a result of age.

Feel free to point on O'Donnell in the ambulance talking to Mrs. Kennedy. There's also footage.

"Roy Kellerman was in charge. He waved William Greer, who had driven the death car,
into the driver's seat. Kellerman sat next to him. Agent Paul Landis squeezed in on the
right side. Admiral Burkley said he had told Mrs. Kennedy that he would stay with the
body until it was returned to the White House. Kellerman waved the doctor into the front
seat and he sat on top of Landis. Standing beside the ambulance were the cardiologist,
the nurse, and driver sent hours ago by Captain Canada of Bethesda in case President
Johnson sustained a heart attack. They were told there was no room for them.
The car started to move forward. Mrs. Kennedy and General McHugh sat on one side
of the casket. Opposite, leaning across the bronze to speak, sat the Attorney General."

They did the same thing at Parkland hospital. They drove off in O'Neals ambulance with the bronze casket without telling the owner. They basically stole his ambulance!

Must be great being in the Secret Service. You can do what you want.
