If the MIC was behind the assassination, no Kennedy would have dared run for political office. The MIC could have easily leaked stories about JFK’s marital infidelities or the secret deal with the Soviets to pull US missiles out of Turkey through Mockingbird and it would have damaged JFK’s chances in 1964.

Note that after the assassination, US nuclear strategic warheads peaked in 1965 while the Soviet’s stockpile continued to grow and surpass the US. The Vietnam war was escalated but conducted in a feckless manner, mostly by people selected by JFK. RFK continued to support the war until at least 1966 when it was starting to go south.The “dangerous” Limited Test Ban Treaty remained in place. The MIC concocted and elaborate assassination plot that had to involve dozens, successfully carried it out and successfully covered it up but then still lost ground?

Based on asking “cui bono?” after the assassination, the benefits accrued to those who who would be expected to be behind the Cuba, LBJ or Mossad theories. The sabotage/assassination plots against Cuba stopped and there was no invasion. LBJ gained the presidency and not removed from office due to the corruption investigations. Israel was able to continue its nuclear weapons program unmolested, watchdogs dragged their feet on the NUMEC uranium theft and the Israel escaped RFK/Fulbright attempts to get them registered as a foreign Lobby.

This was one of my real epiphanies, for which I thank Larry Hancock: The assorted cover-ups all have their own reasons, none of which necessarily has ANYTHING AT ALL to do any conspiracy to carry out the JFKA.

Many get quite upset when anything disparaging of the biblical theme park in the middle east is suggested. Criticize our own government all you want but leave our greatest ally alone!

The Mafia would not have done this on their own. They actually vetoed a hit on NY governor Tom Dewey because it would bring to much heat on them. And Hoffa still went to jail.

It is true that the Mafia’s criminal networks and moral ambivalence made them useful for government intelligence agencies. The OSS used the Mafia in WW2 in Operation Underworld to guard the NYC docks from saboteurs and support resistance networks in Italy. Israel used US Mafia networks to smuggle weapons out of the US. The CIA of course used them for assassination attempts on Castro.

The Ruby hit on Oswald could have been requested by the CIA as part of the cover up or ordered by Mossad. Ruby had some interesting companions at the Dallas Police station on Friday evening that were never followed up by the WC.

Secret Service, FBI, CIA, DPD, LBJ and probably others - they all had CYA reasons for a post-JFKA cover-up of one degree or another.

Another one of my little epiphanies is a quote from Gerry Patrick Hemming (of all people): "I know for a fact there were plans to assassinate JFK. Maybe Oswald just beat 'em to it." I think it's entirely possible that what the best CT researchers (like Hancock) are uncovering were indeed assassination plots at one stage or another of seriousness. Researchers encounter difficulty in fitting Oswald and Dealey Plaza into such plots BECAUSE HE WASN'T PART OF THEM. He may have even been aware that talk of an assassination was in the air - but when Fate handed him an opportunity on a golden platter, he "just beat 'em to it."
