My best guess is the GK diversion was created to allow LHO and a second shooter better odds of leaving the TSBD unmolested. Indeed, police manpower was split up in the immediate aftermath of the JFKA. The diversion broadly worked.

In any event, the second official investigation into the JFKA, the HSCA-1979, concluded there was likely a JFKA conspiracy. The HSCA was full of smart and skeptical guys, who did not buy into sub-CTs, such the BYP pics being fake, or that LHO never ordered a weapon.

Unfortunately, the HSCA did not conclude who LHO's co-conspirators were. Some HSCA members say they ran out of time. I think they may have been barking up the wrong trees (CIA or Mob, rather than G2, DGI or KGB).

On the other hand, the WC LNT resulted from LBJ's diktat that nothing be found that might trigger a nuke war with Russia. At that time, a very real and tangible possibility, since the US and Russia had nearly nuked it out over Cuba in 1962. So was born the WC-LNT, also an unproven narrative. In some ways I do not blame LBF. Even if the KGB-G2 had assassinated JFK, a nuke war would be a horrible result.

The WC-LNT never even faced a legal test in court, let alone a compelling scientific test.

So, we have two unproven narratives regarding the JFKA.

Draw you own conclusions.

So the plan was to frame Oswald as the lone assassin and you do that by having someone fire shots from a different location. Brilliant!!!

What about the guys who fired the diversion shots. How were they going to get away? It's the same conundrum as for those who argue  Ruby shot Oswald to silence him. You then need somebody to silence Ruby. The you need someone to silence the guy who silenced Ruby and so on.

You must think we send our best and brightest people to Congress. Most people end up there because they sucked at everything else they tried. Like Eric Swawell. The smart guys on the HSCA were the ones who dissented from the majority opinion.

Because there weren't any.

Any tree that Oswald wasn't in was the wrong tree.

Now you are lying. LBJ gave no such order.

We don't put dead people on trial. One of the reasons accused people get a trial is so they can face their accusers. That would have been difficult in Oswald's case. The other reason is because the Constitution prevents the government of depriving someone of life, liberty, or property without due process. Oswald had no life, liberty, or property to deprive him of.

I have. The right one. The only right one.

The HSCA did not say there was "likely" a conspiracy. I can't understand why you (and others) continue to misstate what they concluded.

They did not say there were other gunmen either. They said a gunman, one person. They said they didn't know who that other gunman was, what his relationship with Oswald was, what his motivation was, where he and Oswald met, how he and Oswald planned their conspiracy out or anything else about whoever he was.

If you think their report supports your conspiracy beliefs then I think you need to think again.

As to LBJ: Could you cite/link/document where he ordered the Warren Commission to conclude it was Oswald alone? And ignore conspiracy evidence? I've read several books on the Warren Commission investigation and never once read that such an order was given down. And which of the Commissioner or staffers said this took place? I read (the Shenon book for example) that elements of the government - the FBI and the CIA - withheld information from the Commission, information about Oswald, about their operations; but they made those decisions on their own, they weren't ordered by LBJ.

OK, I will say the HSCA said that JFK was "probably assassinated as a result of conspiracy." I used the word "likely."

JFK was probably assassinated as a result of the conspiracy, said the HSCA in 1979. The second official investigation into the JFKA.

This is AI slop below, but OK on facts---

AI Overview

President Lyndon B. Johnson used the threat of a nuclear war that could "kill 40 million Americans in an hour" to pressure key leaders into joining the Warren Commission.

The Phone Calls and the "40 Million Dead" Threat

The Context: Immediately after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in November 1963, LBJ feared that unverified public rumors and conspiracy theories blaming Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev or Cuban leader Fidel Castro could escalate into an international military conflict.

The Argument: To convince reluctant officials—including Senator Richard Russell and Chief Justice Earl Warren—to serve on the investigating panel, Johnson argued that a credible, unified national investigation was vital to prove Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and to prevent public panic from sparking a catastrophic nuclear war.

Persuading Earl Warren: Chief Justice Earl Warren initially turned down requests to lead the commission, believing that a sitting Supreme Court justice should not take orders or lead an inquiry for the executive branch. According to recorded telephone transcripts and historical accounts, Johnson summoned Warren to the White House, pressed him on the grave national security risks, and reportedly invoked FBI intelligence regarding potential foreign involvement. Warren ultimately broke down in tears and agreed to serve "for the good of America".

Elsewhere I have posted on State Dept employees in Mexico getting canned for wanting to pursue Havana leads into the JFKA.

Hoover, tight with LBJ, was working the LHO-LNT within 48 hours.

You are correct, the HSCA concluded LHO was the sole gunman who struck the target, even if there was a diversion, or fourth shot at JFK, from GK.

I have reservations about that conclusion. But each to his own.

Do you think AI is a reliable source of information. All AI does is collect all information it can find regarding a particular issue and regurgitates it. Since there is lots of crapola on the internet, it's hardly surprising that AI would repeat it. Garbage in, garbage out.

There is a reason they call it ARTIFICIAL intelligence. There is no actual intelligence. AI has no ability to think critically. It only knows what it has been told and it has been told a lot of  BS:
