My comment: You know someone's a "useful idiot" when you prove to him (as I did to Simpich seven years ago) that the Kremlin-loyal triple agent / "other hangnail" whom James Angleton was referring to in his Church Committee testimony was Ivan Obyedkov, the KGB security officer at the Soviet Embassy in Mexico City who "volunteered" the Department 13-radioactive name "Kostikov" to Oswald or "Oswald" over a sure-to-be-tapped-by-CIA phoneline on 10/1/63 -- and he congratulates you on your great discovery and tells you that he had spent oodles and gobs of time trying to figure out who the heck "Byetkov?" was . . . . but you check seven years later, and you see that he still hasn't, as of 10/31/25, gotten around to correcting his CIA-hating monograph, "State Secret," in that regard.

Be that as it may, Simpich posted the following at the so-called JFK Assassination Debate - Education Forum a short time ago in the thread titled "What's your JFKA theory?" or some-such thing:

[H]eavy hitters within military/intelligence, Cuban exiles, and the Mob put together an operation.

This operation had to have a leader, and I believe the leader was a military officer.   I think the killing of JFK, Tippit and LHO was a relatively small operation, with 30 or less witting participants - and as Larry Hancock said, some of them have talked.

I believe it was a military-style operation for at least three reasons:   The need for professional shooters and spotters to coordinate the crossfire; the need for top-flight communications before, during and after the shots to report on events and create diversions as needed;  and the importance of assuring the autopsy was conducted by the military and came to the desired result after the smoke had cleared.

Baked into the operation was the knowledge of intelligence personnel that Angleton and Hoover had a significant number of files on Oswald - and that if Oswald was the designated patsy, this "poison pill" would at least force the CIA and the FBI into a reflexive cover-up in order to protect their agencies, their careers, and their families.

In fact, the best possible outcome was achieved:  The "Red Oswald" image resulted in a national security cover-up.  The nation's leaders did not want a nuclear war with the USSR or domestic upheaval at home.   No one even seriously questioned the breakdown in the President's security.

I look at the Oswald killing first, because I think that was a late addition after LHO survived 11/22 - we learn a lot from the way it went down.

We know the broad details, but it's important to name suspects, or "persons of interest" if you prefer.  These people were fascists, in every meaningful sense of the word.

Some of my prime suspects at the ground floor:  Those who ran the security stripping of the President at the motorcade (Secret Service chief Floyd Boring - thank you Vince Palamara!); who destroyed Oswald's "alibi witness" Charles Givens and turned him into a "prosecution witness" while dividing Oswald's family against each other (Secret Service - Mike Howard); who combined a corrupt search of the book depository with the corrupt story of the roll call claiming that Oswald was the only one missing (Dallas Police chiefs/Army Intelligence reservists - George Lumpkin, Pat Gannaway); people who destroyed the chain of evidence and corrupted the investigation (Dallas police officers Pinky Westbrook, Jerry Hill); those who ensured the death of Oswald (Dallas police chiefs Will Fritz, George Butler).  I have named other people in the past but these are eight of the most intriguing suspects.

At the top:  I would say the CIA's David Morales (who admitted a role) and Howard Burris (LBJ's military adviser - among other things, he provided LBJ with military info that JFK did not know).   I would be stunned if Bill Harvey wasn't involved because of his hatred of the Kennedys and his devotion to black operations like assassinations.  Same with Allen Dulles.

The wild card is LBJ and how much he knew before 11/22.  His career was within days of being destroyed by Life Magazine.  If nothing else, the people who killed Kennedy knew that time was running out if they wanted to see their chosen successor in place.
