Good stuff, Fred. I hope you continue to hold DiEugenio to account for his shoddy research and shilling for non-existent conspiracy theories.

James DiEugenio on Permindex: A Case Study

Here is a textbook illustration on how now to interpret a document.

I've already told you that Bruce Leonard Solie was a probable KGB "mole" in the CIA's mole-hunting Office of Security.

Since he was Chief of the Office of Security's Security Research Staff's Research Branch (C/RB/SRS/OS, or some permutation thereof) and Deputy Chief of the Security Research Staff (DC/SRS), itself, he was James Angleton's mole-hunting superior (and, unfortunately, his highly trusted confidant).

He tried to talk W. David Slawson into a letting false (or rogue?) defector, Major I mean Lt. Col. I mean Captain Yuri "The KGB Had Absolutely Nothing To Do With Oswald In The USSR" Nosenko (whom he "cleared" in 1968 via a bogus polygraph exam and a specious report) testify to the Warren Commission, he hid OS files on Oswald from the Church Committee and the HSCA, and researcher Malcolm Blunt says he was "all over the Kennedy investigation and all over Clay Shaw for Jim Garrison."

You'll notice that his Research Branch and Security Research Staff (SRS) are mentioned in this document:
