On the Certified Wacko Forum, a Major Researcher (and Harvey & Lee enthusiast!) stated, “Based on available info to Oswald, the limo would be passing by prior to 12 pm as the luncheon was expected to start at noon per the invitations.”

OH, MY GOD! Bill Shelley was consistent from the day of the JFKA to his appearance at the WC that he had seen Oswald on the first floor around 11:50 AM. Suspicious, no? Could Our Favorite Patsy really have cut things that close?

For starters, how would Oswald have known anything about the coveted invitations to the Trade Mart luncheon? Did he receive one? (They did indeed tell attendees to be there at noon – see image below.)

In fact, JFK’s official schedule for 11-22 (see image below) had the motorcade leaving Love Field at 11:45 AM. It actually left at 11:55, ten minutes behind schedule. There is no way JFK was going to be at the Trade Mart at noon. The planners simply wanted everyone there long before JFK arrived.

The TSBD was pretty much the last leg of the multi-mile motorcade. There is no way, either as planned or in actuality, that the limo was going to be in front of the TSBD “prior to 12 PM.”

The official schedule for 11-22 had JFK’s arrival at the Trade Mart at 12:30 PM. In fact, 12:30 was exactly when the limo was in front of the TSBD and JFK was shot. Google says the time from the TSBD to the Trade Mart with normal traffic is 5 minutes. Ergo, the limo was pretty much on schedule.

Oswald would have been planning his activities around his own observations and the actions of others in the TSBD and on the street. At noon, it would have been obvious JFK was nowhere in the vicinity.

As usual, much ado about nothing. But it’s simply astonishing how these bogus factoids pop up everywhere in CT discussions and simply go unnoticed – except, of course, by intrepid factoid busters, whose work is never done. In case you're wondering, I don't actively hunt for these things. I just encounter statements that cause me to say "Wait a minute, that can't possibly be right" - and guess what, it never is.
