My wife lived in the USSR from her birth in 1954 until it's collapse. She then lived in the Soviet-style republic of Belarus until 2007, when she joined me. During the Obama and Biden years, she must have said at least 25 times, in these very words, "My God, this is just like the Soviet Union! This is just what they were trying to do."

Dear FPR,

You've posted the same heart-warming story two or three times, now.

Every time I read it, I weep profusely and then I start wondering whether or not Maria Butina whispered the same sort of things into the ears of Patrick M. Bryne and Paul Erikson as she nibbled on them.

Their ears, that is.

And it also reminds me, in a roundabout way, of Marina Oswald, whom some people say was a hooker for the KGB* in Leningrad before she married her Handsome Prince Charming within a month of meeting him, even though she later claimed, "everybody hated him."

The next time Rubio hands him a note....
"Marco has just handed me a note...let's see what it says...'Do not read this one out loud'...."

Sounds like you are beginning to realize that Oswald was  not exactly a lone nut like  the WC wishes us all to believe.

By the way, you were in error when  you confused me with that hooded avatar forum poster when you stated that I was the kook advocating  the Hickey accidental firing of his AR 15 scenario.

Dear Zeon,

You're absolutely correct -- the KGB may have encouraged and/or manipulated self-described Marxist and former Marine sharpshooter Lee Harvey Oswald into killing JFK.

"...frightened citizen"? That characterization is totally inaccurate based on ALL of the audio/video recorded that morning. Both women were taunting law enforcement all morning long. She should have gotten out of the car as instructed.

Question: Should Ashli Babbitt have not entered the House Chamber, as instructed by real law enforcement officers?

Question 1: If a citizen has a permit to carry a firearm and is found by Federal officers to be carrying a firearm, do they have the right to take the gun away and shoot the citizen?

Question 2: If so, is this in line with the Second Amendment?

It should be noted that one is either a strong defender of the Second Amendment, or one is not. One cannot sometimes support the Second Amendment, but at other times not, and be considered a strong defender of the Second Amendment.

Re: #1, I would think it would depend on whether or not the person was brandishing the firearm and/or actually pointing it at the Federal officers.

Don't you?

Kind of an interesting article from the New Yorker concerning The Donald's logorrhea ("excessive and often incoherent talkativeness"):

https://www.newyorker.com/news/letter-from-trumps-washington/its-time-to-talk-about-donald-trumps-logorrhea

"Amid all the coverage marking the first anniversary of his return to the White House, one story—which did not get the attention it deserved—stood out for me: a Times analysis of how much more the President has been talking and talking and talking. The findings? One million nine hundred and seventy-seven thousand six hundred and nine words in the Presidential appearances, as of January 20th—an increase of two hundred and forty-five per cent compared with the first year of Trump’s first term in office, back in 2017."

I think any objective observer has to be "just a bit" concerned.
