The First Shot

Isn't the real issue is that "the first shot didn't hit anybody" IF THERE WAS SUCH A FIRST SHOT? It seem to me likely that what is being described as the "missed early first shot" - that no one can agree when the hell it occurred and that numerous witnesses described as sounding "different" - was not a shot at all, meaning that either there were only two shots or, if there were three shots, the first did in fact hit JFK. The "missed early first shot" strikes me as the least likely and least supported by evidence. Since an early missed shot is not essential to the LN narrative, I don't understand the fascination/obsession with it. I assume it's that a three-shot scenario without an early miss creates problems for the SBT - correct?

Dear FPR,

Do you think Dallas Morning News reporter Mary Woodward was hallucinating when she wrote a few hours after the assassination that she heard a backfire-like shot shortly after the limo turned onto Elm Street, that she didn't think the shot hit anyone, and that she heard two other shots after it?
