Colin, according to Wiki. the C37 could carry four people.

General characteristics
Crew: 1
Capacity: 3 passengers
Length: 24 ft 10 in (7.57 m)
Wingspan: 33 ft 10 in (10.31 m)
Height: 7 ft 3 in (2.21 m)
Wing area: 180 sq ft (17 m2)
Empty weight: 1,300 lb (590 kg)
Gross weight: 2,220 lb (1,007 kg)
Fuel capacity: 35 US gal (29 imp gal; 130 L)
Powerplant: 1 ? Warner Super Scarab 7-cylinder radial engine, 145 hp (108 kW)

Ah thanks Ray.....I also saw a page that said the fuel capacity could be 45 gallons. Two wing tanks of 17.5 gall and a centre tank of 10 gall. There was also mention of a reserve tank.

What would be the weight of that fuel and four average size passengers, compared to it's 920lbs nett carrying weight?

Thx Colin/Ray
Thumb1:  The wieght of 45 gallons equates to 300lbs. so that allows just 620lbs for the pilot and three passengers.

I have not been able to find any examples of Ferries' handwriting.
However,
There is a much better image of the document here: (at a link)
http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/topic/6750-david-ferrie-flight-plan/

Researchers will note the strange use of an upper case letter "E" in every instance on the document...except for the letter "e" in the Hidell name.

Anyone have any thoughts on this odd switch to a  lower case "e"?

Looks to be an attempt at upper case to me. Just that the middle horizontal blends with the upper.

Colin, has anyone established where Garrison obtained this copy of a flight plan?
Good to establish a chain of custody.
Especially the primary source

Here is the story about the discovery of the flight plan, according to Francesca Akhtar writing in the Dealey Plaza Echo.

I am sorry but I do not know how to make the pages appear smaller. Anyway, the information is here.

Sorry Jim, been away for a while. Regarding the handwriting....you could be right but not definitive to my mind. Not sure how putting Hidell on a form "blows anyone's cover". All it needed was knowledge of an identity.
