Can someone please remind us how it was that the polaroid acquired an egregious fingerprint? If it happened whilst it was in the 'safekeeping' of the Feds, that would be an odd one. A polaroid once developed is dry. Who would handle a polaroid with WET hands therefore? Government photo experts? Stretching it a bit, isn't it?

Krulvyn, several stories concerning your question (and a good question).

From Mary's email I understand that the print came back to Mary with the
fingerprint.

If you go by some researcher's it came from Jean Hill.

I have an extremely sharp and whole print obtained a few months ago but
unable to post.

As, a few researcher's claim that the fingerprint was used to cover-up
something contained in her photograph.  But viewing this photo, what
would have been too important?????

It looks like this photograph was dusted for prints.

The photo was taken the night, about 12 midnight, when I came home from the courthouse.  It was returned several days later and was like it was when they took it.  A week or so later it was picked up again and kept a few days, but when it was returned...the fingerprint.  From then on the original had the fingerprint on it.  There is no doubt that the FBI knows who print belongs to.

I found the photos that we took of this picture many years ago in a file.  I don't know how to email this file to you.  I'll have one of my granddaughters to do this for me when one comes by.  This computer is Microsoft 10 and new to me and different than the one I had before.

I had to pay a lot to the person who works for Amon Carter Museum to verify the originally of the photo.  I still have a copy of that also when it comes back to me from Tennessee.  This was because of putting this in the Auction.  There was no way this wasn't the original.----Mary

Gary Mack informed me some time ago about the FBI document
stating that the six floor window is present in the Mary Moorman
image.

The FBI had counted the basement level in their report.

Interesting.

From JFK Assassination Photographs Gallery (link at top of Forum page):

So-called "Zippo" version, taken before the fingerprint developed. This photo of the Moorman original was taken with a low-res box camera with a Zippo lighter lighter on the right.

Just how DID important evidence in the murder get destroyed, lost or damaged anyhow? Correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't evidence kind of important to not screw up when you're a cop and not just a guy in the street who's picked something up off the ground (like, say a stray bullet)? Even more so when it's the Prez who just got iced. Cops gotta be at their best for THIS case, right? No doubt someone will inform me that the JFK murder investigation produced as many such, let's call them, 'anomalies', as any other similar murder case. Which would be patently absurd since the JFK case is overflowing with them. Which is odd for such an open-and-shut case, right kids?
