On the second floor of the records building, you can see a muzzle flash.  Look at about the 39- 40 second mark of this YouTube video.  You will see a muzzle flash from a gun.

Here you see that there is a person/s in the same exact spot where the muzzle flash shows in the YouTube clip.

Here is a video of a muzzle flash from a Mauser rifle.

The "muzzle flash" is too low to be caused by the men in the window.

John,

The rifle would be pointed on a downward angle causing the muzzle flash to be lower than the user.  Also, you would probably have to adjust the location of the muzzle flash for the angle where Mr. Bell filmed from.

If it is not a muzzle flash, what do you suppose it is?  That flash does not show any signs of a burnt frame in the film.  A burnt frame at the same exact place on the frame where there are people with what seems to be a rifle would be too coincidental in my view.

Just thinking out loud:
1. I doubt an assassin would hang outside a window, but would rather seek concealment
2. The flash is too low to be associated with the people hanging out the windows on the floor above
3. The flash seems to come from a window on the 2nd floor
4. The Bell film seems to show the windows on the 2nd floor as being closed
5. Wouldn't a shot from the 2nd floor shatter a closed window ?

All that being said, I have NO idea what the flash is...and yes, I do find it very intriguing...

Good catch !

In regard to the guy firing 3 shots displaying the "muzzle flash" from a Mauser rifle, his 2nd shot does Not display nearly the "muzzle flash" we see with  shots #1 & #3. Possibly, shot #2 = NO Muzzle Flash. Might shot #2 above be indicative of JFK's SHALLOW back wound?  Humes placed his finger into JFK's Back Wound and it Stopped at his 1st knuckle. JFK's SHALLOW back wound, the Pristine Bullet, and Shot #2 above may All have 1 thing in common = Defective Ammunition.

Catching a muzzle flash is very unlikely and would probably be smaller than that.

Find and read book "Appointment In Dallas". Man calling himself Saul, interviewed for book, and later on 60 minutes, said he shot from the second story of the records building.

It's nothing but an anomaly on the film.  Better copies, like the copy owned by the Sixth Floor Museum(they have the original) show it to be nothing more that an anomaly for one frame.  On top of this, it that were a "muzzle flash" it would be a cannon going off.  No rifle would produce a muzzle flash that size and that color, which is solid white.  This is the frame with the white spot from the copy of the Robert Hughes film owned by the Sixth Floor Museum:
