Bill: If Oswald had walked directly from the rooming house, using the straightest/shortest route, to the movie theater about how much time would it have taken? What time would he have arrived?

Hi Steve.  I have never walked from the rooming house directly to the theater.  However, from the rooming house to Tenth & Patton, it is nine-tenths of a mile and it took me 12 minutes and 20 seconds.  Google says it is exactly one mile from the rooming house to the theater (straight down Beckley to Jefferson).  My basic algebra tells me that would mean I could make the walk directly to the theater in roughly 13 minutes and 40 seconds.

Recreations can only show us what is possible. They can't really prove how long Oswald to get from points A to point B. B to C, C to D....and so on. It sounds like the recreation described in the OP was in the ballpark. It certainly doesn't refute the finding that Oswald killed Tippit, which all the credible evidence indicates he did.

The OP is definitely NOT claiming that the time trial refutes the idea that Oswald killed Tippit.  In fact, quite the opposite.  I am showing that there is no issue with any timing.  Oswald could have got there in time.

The DOA 1:15 time is a problem for me.

It’s 1:15 on the emergency room clock that the doctor records when he pronounced Tippit DOA.

That time coincides  nicely with Bowleys post shooting wristwatch time of 1:10 seeing Tippit already laying on ground and Markams pre shooting estimate time of 1:07 so sighting Oswald and Tippit following Oswald.

So why the DPD dispatch has a time that is 1:16 for Bowley radio call at 1:10 (by his watch ) has to be either collusion or everyone else’s clock  including the emergency room doctors clock was 5 to 7 minutes slow relative to the dispatchers clock.

It’s possible but in the case of the emergency room clock one would think that the hospital would keep clocks in emergency rooms in sync with “official” police time. Then again, this particular hospital could be a little sloppy like the emergency room I was in today for 8 hrs and could not get any diagnosis of even a general one  and I finally left the place out of hunger and dehydration not having eaten for 22 hrs.A Z-Gen orderly told me it was nothing to be concerned about not having eaten in 22 hrs. Yea, no concern for HIM no doubt.  ::)

Zeon... How could Tippit arrive DOA at Methodist at 1:15 when the Bowley call was not made on Tippit's squad car radio until 1:17?

Bowley tells us his actions upon arriving at the scene.  He simply got out of his car, walked over to the body, realized there was nothing he could do for Tippit and then went over to the door and took the mic from Benavides and reported the shooting.  This doesn't take seven minutes.  It is up to each of us to decide whether we want to rely on the accuracy of the Dallas Police dispatcher verbal time stamps... or Bowley's 1960's era windup wristwatch.

How could Tippit arrive DOA at Methodist at 1:15 when the ambulance wasn't dispatched from the Dudley-Hughes Funeral Home until 1:18?  Eddie Kinsley (ambulance personnel, along with J.C. Butler) confirmed that he gave a copy of the call sheet to George & Patricia Nash.  The Nashes stated that the time listed on this call sheet was 1:18.

As for your hospital visit, I hope everything is good with you.  Prayers.

I didn't mean to imply you did claim. That was aimed at another poster who had claimed the time trial refuted Oswald was Tippit's killer.

Time trials can give us an estimate of how long the took someone to perform a particular act. They can't give us a definite time frame. The recreations done to for both Oswald's and Baker's movements to arrive at the second floor lunchroom did seem to indicate, but not proving, it would have taken Oswald slightly less time to reach the lunchroom than it would have taken Baker. The fact Oswald got to the lunchroom just before Baker reached the second floor landing fits with the estimates the recreations provided. That doesn't prove Oswald had come down from the sixth floor. We have ample other proof of that.

It’s 1:15 on the emergency room clock that the doctor records when he pronounced Tippit DOA.

On the official "Authorized Permit for Autopsy" Tippit is recorded as being DOA(Dead on Arrival), meaning that he was dead before he arrived, therefore where the actual time of death is recorded, must by definition, can not be the time Tippit arrived!
And because in this case the time of death happened earlier and in some other place, the actual time must be estimated and based on any available information.

And here the Police describe the Doctors attempting to bring Tippit back to life, further reinforcing that the doctors observed that Tippit was deceased when he arrived.

BTW, I hope that some medical professional finds out what's wrong with you and you have a full recovery!  Thumb1:

Funeral home clock 1:18 ambulance dispatched. Ambulance returns in about 5 minutes to the hospital with Tiipit at 1:23, the emergency doctor makes a quick check of Tippit and then he signs a document that was typed 1:15?

A typing error? Doctor signed a DOA not noticing an incorrect time of 1:15?

Whatever clock the doctor  was looking at was 8 minutes slower than the funeral home clock?

The doctor thought that the time that should be typed for DOA time was not by a clock he was looking at was when Tippits body arrived , rather the time should be thr doctors best guess as to what time it was when Tipoit died BEFORE he arrived to the emergency room?

The simplest solution is that one set of 3 clocks happened to be 5-7 minutes slower than another set of 2 clocks ( DPD dispatch clock and the Funersl home clock ).

The doctor simply looked at whatever clock or watch when Tiipit arrived and the clock read 1:15 and that’s what was typed on the the DOA document

So if it’s plausible that it’s not improbable that one set of 3 clocks could be nearly in sync with each other yet 5-7 minutes slower relative to another set of 2 clocks that also happen to be in sync with each other .. then  Thumb1:

Thanx @  John Mytton and Bill Brown for their incredible insight and logical reasoning with regard to the JFKA discussion over the last 15 years. I’m still not totally convinced Oswald was the shooter but I have moved away from the far out CT alternatives such as Josiah Thompson 5 shots from 3 shooters with the Z313  being TWO hits from both the front AND the TSBD. ( He thinks JFK forward head movement from Z312-Z313 is  caused by Zapruder moving the camera  ::)
