Creepiest thing ever?
« on: Today at 07:20:08 PM »
Well, I'M having fun, even if no one else is!  :D My weirdness studies (and experiences) have largely focused on the possibility of the survival of death. I'm just strange enough that I find the question somewhat more important than whether Oswald porked Judyth Vary Baker (answer: no, Marina is proof he had better taste than that).

There's nothing paranormal about this topic, but I was unaware of it until I few years ago and find it creepier than hell. The death of children was so common in Victorian times, sometimes from causes we'd treat with Neosporin ointment and a Band Aid, that the Victorians often dressed the deceased child and posed him or her, eyes open, with the rest of the family. It was very common.

In this photo, the little girl on the far left was No Longer With Us when the photo was taken. Is that weird - indeed, haunting - or what? No wonder the brother next to her looks a bit unnerved.
