Paul, you have set yourself an impossible task if you are trying to figure out the physics of the 3 fragments that came to rest under Nellys jump seat.  :D

With regards to the tilted box on the window ledge, the 1st shot being fired, being a completely missed shot, the options are:

1. SE gunman ACCIDENTALLY fired off a shot while moving from his seated position not in LOS of the Hughes film camera, to take up some kind of position to rest his rifle on the tilted box on the window ledge. And then he got TWO hits in 4.8 seconds span of time.

2. SE gunman was unfamiiar with the rifle, unaware how misaligned the scope was and so although he was trying to actuall aim, the  1st shot went high to the right of the JFK limo, struck the pavement possibly, as per the statements of one witness, Virgie Rachley, AKA, Mrs Donald Bakers FBI report:

At about 12:16 p.m. on November 22, 1963 she left her office and went out the south door of the Texas School Book Depository Building to watch the Presidential motorcade pass. She was standing across the street immediately in front of the building but on the north side of the entrance to the Triple Underpass along which the motorcade traveled. She observed President KENNEDY'S car pass her point of observation and almost immediately thereafter heard three explosions spaced at intervals which she at first thought were firecrackers. It sounded as though these sounds were coming from the direction of the Triple Underpass, and looking in that direction after the first shot she saw something bounce from the roadway in front of the Presidential automobile and now presumes it was a bullet bouncing off the pavement. She stated she did not see president KENNEDY being shot and that she did not realize this was what happened until later.

But if we presume all 3 shots were from the SE 6th floor window gunman, then in either 1. or 2. option, the 1st shot is made in TRANSITION, ie. while moving. So AFTER this 1st shot is missed due either to accidental or misaligned scope,. the gunman would have had  only 3.5 seconds after this 1st shot , to finish his movement, rest himself and his rifle on the tilted unstable boxe on the window ledge, adjust his rifle using he IRON sights, find the moving target, and get a hit in the back of JFK.

Imo, that particular sequence of movement, while also working bolt, ejecting shell, loading new round, ending movement, getting into his firing positon, finding the moving target in his IRON sights again, and firing the 2nd shot, in only 3.5 seconds HAS NOT EVER BEEN REPLICATED!!

No they should did a investigation about blood spatters and trajectorys.
How do you want to investigate a trajectory accurate with so many layers of clothing?

But maybe you can show us a trajectory from behind that window to the car and victims.

Show us your diagram!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
