The president has the authority to order the military to bomb some foreign country.  Imagine if an intern or some unknown bureaucrat who controlled Biden's autopen signed the authorization to order the military to bomb some foreign country:

"President Donald Trump announced over the weekend that he ordered the United States military to launch "decisive and powerful military action" against the Houthis in Yemen."

So, you've backed away from "bombing of some foreign country like Russia to begin WWIII" to bombing Houthi rebels in Yemen. HAHAHAHAHAHA

The point I made still stands; do you really think that starting a war (or ordering a bombing) only takes a letter from the President?

You must believe that we still live in the 19th century....

Yes, at the end of a cruise missile.  Ask the Houthis.  Who exactly do you think orders these strikes?  You don't see any risk in some unknown WH bureaucrat having the ability to place the president's signature on official government documents?  What is the military supposed to do if they get a directive from the WH apparently signed by the president ordering them to launch an immediate attack on some country?

The Houthis are being used as a recent example of the President's ability to authorize a military strike in response to a very stupid comment that suggested that president didn't have such authority.  This authority extends to a strike on any country such as Russia that could precipitate WWIII.

Does that letter go directly to the guy who pushes the button to launch a missile?

Follow procedure and double check.

"Follow procedure and double check"?  Who are you kidding? That Benedict Arnold aka Mark Millie went ahead on his own and told China he would give them a "heads up" if Trump launched anything in their direction. That's FACT! Procedure? Double Check? Get Real! This is why Trump is weeding these traitors out man by man. Millie should face a full blown Public Court-Martial.

You may not understand this, but you are actually confirming my point.

If, as "Richard Smith" seems to be claiming, "an intern or some unknown bureaucrat who controlled Biden's autopen signed the authorization to order the military to bomb some foreign country" the order would be followed, then there wouldn't have been a possibility for someone as Mark Millie to give the heads up to anybody.

if Trump launched anything in their direction

Trump, or any other President before him, doesn't launch anything himself. If that were the case, all that would be required is install a launch button on the President's desk.

In the real world, the President gives an order which is subsequently passed on to the Pentagon and they would follow procedure.

This is why Trump is weeding these traitors out man by man.

You actually mean; getting rid of anybody who isn't a Trump cult member.
