Martin must be living on some island that has only MSNBC ,CNN and the BBC :)
I switched to watching Fox News and Alex Jones since about 2012 when Obama showed his true intentions by signing that 2012 NDAA expanding the Patriot Act. And that harassment of Cliven Bundy was what convinced me the Democrat Party was no longer the part for me.

I would like to think I’m still an objective critical thinker, and judging from Martins criticisms of the WC report, I think he is capable of critical thinking too.
At some point in time, before Obama, I would bet that Martin and I were on the same page watching MSNBC challenging the GW Bush admin and that whole “weapons of Mass destruction”  BS, as well as the 911 narrative, and noting the Fox News bias continually defending that ridiculous narrative.

I’m sorry that Martin has such a complete opposite observation about Trump than I do at this point in time. Maybe I’m being fooled by Alex Jones and Fox News, or Martin is being misled by BBC, CNN, and MSNBC.  I guess time will tell which of these various news sources were closer to the truth.

Hi Zeon,

I don't watch anything on TV as I don't have the time for it. I use YouTube to provide me with clips from a wide range of outlets, including Fox, MSNBC , BBC, European stations and independent outlets like Midas Touch and it's obvious to me that every station has it's own agenda.

If you don't understand that Trump is destroying the country, there is not much I can tell you. Are you even aware that Canada and China are both negotiating with the EU to increase trade between them? I haven't seen it being covered on any of the US stations, but it is indeed happening. And are you aware that China has declared that it will never give in to Trump? If you only watch Fox and Alex Jones you will never get this kind of information. Perhaps you should try to find a better balance in your sources of information.

Joe 6 Pack does NOT Pay a "tariff" until such time as he/she actually PURCHASES/$$ a Foreign product. You do NOT want to pay a "tariff"? Do NOT buy a foreign made product. Very simple. So exactly what Products are we looking at that are subject to Trump "Tariffs"?  Maple Syrup from Canada? We have Maple Syrup made right here inside the USA. Lumber? Plenty of trees = lumber inside the USA. Shoes? Notably from China courtesy of their slave labor work force. Can Joe 6 Pack go without another pair of "Air Jordans", even if this puts a dent in the China propaganda arm = NBA? Can do!

Well, one thing is for sure, Canada can go without US goods, as they are already proving it. If the US has enough lumber to build houses, why have they been buying the bulk of what they need from Canada? And why do entire areas of the US rely on electricity from Canada? And what about the Canadians who are massively canceling their holidays in the US? And it gets worse, the Europeans are talking about doing the same.

Except for some extreme cultmembers, I seriously doubt there will be many Americans who are willing to go without certain goods and pay much more for other goods just to please the orange leader.
There will be more mass demonstrations and the crowds will only grow.

"Certain goods"? Even You are unsure of what Specific Products would be subject to a "tariff". The USA is the Largest Consumer Nation in the World. All the other countries in the World have to have access to the Purchasing Power of the USA. It's that simple and Trump is using this Massive Leverage. Trump at heart is an Isolationist. Military Dominance + Energy Independence + The Dome Defense. Bottom Line, the other countries need the USA far more than the USA needs them. Indisputable, and as the other nations begin taking a knee, it will soon become obvious to everyone. The Tree Huggers too, (lumber).

How in the world can I know where every product imported into the USA comes from?

The USA is the Largest Consumer Nation in the World. All the other countries in the World have to have access to the Purchasing Power of the USA.

Yeah, something along those lines is exactly what the British said about Brexit. It's obviously a smaller market, but they also figured that other countries would have no other option but to trade with them.
It blew up in their face.

Bottom Line, the other countries need the USA far more than the USA needs them.

And there it is!

You are completely ignorant to the fact that if suppliers are priced out of the US market by tariffs, they will look for other markets to deal with.

Canada is already talking to the EU and the Chinese are expected to increase their exports to the EU.

Indisputable, and as the other nations begin taking a knee, it will soon become obvious to everyone.

Let's just wait and see. Of course countries will try to negotiate a deal, because that would be the best solution, but if Trump's demands are too excessive the larger countries and trading blocks will walk away.
There is no way that they will allow Trump's gamble to pay off because that would be a bad outcome when dealing with a bully who does not only want to rule the US but the world. Ain't going to happen!

Just wait and see what will happen when US companies have to shut down with people being fired left, right and center, because other countries do not want to buy US products anymore and importers are unable to pay the tariffs for goods coming to the US. It has already started. The EU has decided to invest massively in a new defense industry and Marco Rubio is already complaining that they won't be buying US weapon systems. Next up, I imagine, will be cancellations of orders for airplanes.....

Trump just announced an increase in tariffs for China to 125%... he is getting desperate because the Chinese are not going to play his game!

Even Musk is turning against him.....

And now, the White House announced a reduction of the tariffs to 10% and a freeze of 90 days for 75 countries.

He has overplayed his hand and has now blinked for the second time!

The Trump cycle:

1. Announce big tariffs.

2. Belatedly realize this won't work.

3. Calls off the tariffs.

4. Announce they will go back to tariffs in 30 or 90 days.

Repeat, repeat, repeat.
