Did you read the article? "Musk appeared to imply... blah blah blah"

Musk was commenting on DEI policies and I agree that I want the BEST person for the job, not some arbitrary person employed to fill a quota of a certain gender or colour. Musk like myself doesn't care if a person is female, male, black, yellow or white or whatever, we want our doctor, pilot, air traffic controller, fireman, ETC., to be the BEST and most suitable person for their job, how can this reasonable and logical thinking be in the slightest way controversial?

You agree that you want... Who cares that you agree with yourself.

the BEST person for the job, not some arbitrary person employed to fill a quota of a certain gender or colour.

That's not the purpose of DEI. That's how it is being presented by Trump and Musk.

In the real world DEI policy is ensure, that when you have two persons who are equally qualified for a particular job, and one of them is a minority, the minority applicant gets a fair treatment!

DEI is not to hire a less qualified minority instead of a qualified white person.

I'm amazed that this needs to be explained to you.

I outlined all the good that Musk has done for society and the Earth's long time preservation and this is your opener?

Sure, there is a lot of ways to make money but investing in risky business that ensures the future of our planet takes a special type of person.

That doesn't even follow logically, so let me rephrase it for you, "Musk became the richest man on the planet because he did stuff for the good of mankind"! For instance electric cars which are essential for reducing global climate change were not very popular, then Musk came along and took a huge financial risk and spent billions developing and manufacturing Tesla's which became the most important new car technology in history and all because Musk wants mankind to survive and be more than we can be!

That makes him a good business man who sees an opportunity and takes a risk that pays off....

and all because Musk wants mankind to survive and be more than we can be!

Really? You actually believe that's his motivation? Wow

You have no answer for the other 3, and I guess didn't finish reading what you call "deliberately misleading".
Quote
“As Secretary Hegseth has said, DEI is dead at the Defense Department,” Pentagon Press Secretary John Ullyot said in a statement. ““Discriminatory Equity Ideology is a form of Woke cultural Marxism that has no place in our military. It Divides the force, Erodes unit cohesion and Interferes with the services’ core warfighting mission. We are pleased by the rapid compliance across the Department with the directive removing DEI content from all platforms.”

JohnM

And your point is?

Who cares about the opinions of Joe Rogan and some firefighter. There will always be individual cases where something is wrong.
Nepotism is all around us, but that does not negate the fact that the true purpose of DEI is to give minorities who are in fact qualified for a particular job a fair chance.

Geez, you have fallen hook line and sinker for this leftist BS! How often in the real World are two applicants "equally qualified", that is completely stupid and you fell for it, explains a lot actually!
But let's just say that in magic fairyland that two applicants are "equally qualified" then according to DEI principles, the minority applicant automatically wins, how is that fair?
