DA Henry Wade

Henry Wade was a real scoundrel…

NBC News:
Quote
As district attorney of Dallas for an unprecedented 36 years, Henry Wade was the embodiment of Texas justice.

A strapping 6-footer with a square jaw and a half-chewed cigar clamped between his teeth, The Chief, as he was known, prosecuted Jack Ruby. He was the Wade in Roe v. Wade. And he compiled a conviction rate so impressive that defense attorneys ruefully called themselves the 7 Percent Club. But now, seven years after Wade's death, The Chief's legacy is taking a beating.

Nineteen convictions — three for murder and the rest involving rape or burglary — won by Wade and two successors who trained under him have been overturned after DNA evidence exonerated the defendants. About 250 more cases are under review.

No other county in America — and almost no state, for that matter — has freed more innocent people from prison in recent years than Dallas County, where Wade was DA from 1951 through 1986.

Quote
John Stickels, a University of Texas at Arlington criminology professor and a director of the Innocence Project of Texas, blames a culture of "win at all costs."

"When someone was arrested, it was assumed they were guilty," he said. "I think prosecutors and investigators basically ignored all evidence to the contrary and decided they were going to convict these guys."

Quote
In the 1960s, Wade secured a murder conviction against Ruby, the Dallas nightclub owner who shot Lee Harvey Oswald after Oswald's arrest in the assassination of President Kennedy. Ruby's conviction was overturned on appeal, and he died before Wade could retry him.

Wade was also the defendant in the 1973 landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. The case began three years earlier when Dallas resident Norma McCorvey — using the pseudonym Jane Roe — sued because she couldn't get an abortion in Texas.

Wade trained his prosecuting assistants on picking a jury--- Don't select women...stay away from blacks and most of all...avoid black women.
Now that was critical race theory 1950s style  :-[

Yep. He was a racist scoundrel.

Of course that doesn’t mean he participated in a conspiracy or coverup with the Kennedy assassination but Dallas under Wade’s regime in 1963 seems like an ideal place for a plot against someone like JFK.

Given Wade’s history, who can be certain that there was no foul play in the Dallas PD’s investigation?

He hated Kennedy. A former FBI agent---Wade took orders from the top. Rumor was because Wade wasn't picked for federal judge in 1960 [Sarah Hughes was] maybe LBJ would give him a nod.
Justice be damned...Wade loved to PROSECUTE.

Racist sScoundrel??     Seems a bit timid when describing Henry Wade.... He was an amoral cutthroat bastard...

Personally,  I believe that Jack Ruby was Henry Wade's "handy man" .... In the immediate aftermath of the assassination Ruby was in contact with Wade and actually publicly corrected Wade about Lee Oswald's affiliation with the FPFCC.

Oops!,  I left out the most important part....Ruby corrected DA Wade by saying " No Henry, He is a member of the Fair Play For Cuba Committee"  Referring to the DA by his first name.

Henry Wade- 'Token' Dallas D.A.---
https://www.jfkassassinationforum.com/index.php/topic,1040.msg23282.html#msg23282

I never understood why District Attorney Henry Wade was called as a witness to testify before the Commission. He didn't witness anything.
He wasn't a witness to the assassination...Tippits murder..Oswald's arrest...Oswald's line-ups at the DPD..he did not interrogate Oswald or anyone connected with Oswald...Marina, the Paines...no one.
Quote
When asked "Did you know Jack Ruby" Henry Wade lied. He lied to reporters..he lied to the press..he lied to the Warren Commission... In fact, his brother Robert Ney Wade [also an attorney] and Jack Ruby were good friends. Ney Wade and Tom Howard [Ruby's lawyer] were partners. Want to know how/why Wade got away with it? Clue--LBJ JEH.

Walt fabrication.

There's no "No Henry" on the recording.
