A key lie.....

A 12-1 article in the Washington Star by Jerry O'Leary, a writer more than friendly with the FBI's Deke DeLoach, and someone upon whom the FBI regularly relies to get their stories before the public, declares: "PIECE OF OSWALD'S SHIRT FOUND SNAGGED IN RIFLE." It then goes on to claim "A fragment of Lee Harvey Oswald's shirt was snagged in the rifle that killed President John F. Kennedy, the FBI report of the assassination states. Disclosure of this evidence against the 24 year-old Oswald, himself slain two days after Mr. Kennedy's death, is regarded as one of the most solid pieces of evidence of his guilt. Officials said wisps of brown shirt material were caught in metal parts of the 6.5 mm Italian-made carbine found on the fifth floor of the Texas School Book Depository Building a few minutes after the fatal shots were fired on November 22. When Oswald was arrested two hours later, he was wearing a brown shirt of the same material. Oswald claimed he had changed his shirt in his rooming house after leaving the assassination area, but this proved to be untrue. FBI Crime Lab technicians determined by microscopic and other scientific means that the fragment of shirt material came from the shirt the ex-Marine was wearing."

The story presented  to the trusting and grieving American public at the time (December 63) said that The FBI had found a tuft of fibers on the butt plate of the TSBD carcano.  The FBI said that the carcano belonged to Lee Oswald and it was the rifle used to kill President Kennedy.  They also said that the tuft of fibers matched the shirt that Lee Oswald was wearing at the time of the murder, and that was the same shirt that Lee was wearing at the Texas Theater.

Since the FBI swore that the fibers matched the shirt that Lee was wearing when he was brought into the Dallas police station and the same shirt that was sent to the FBI lab at midnight 11/22/63 ...then by extension ..The FBI is saying that the fibers were planted on that carcano after both the rifle and the shirt were in possession of the police.  Because at the time of the murder Lee was NOT wearing the shirt from which the tuft of fibers were snagged .   At the time that JFK was murdered Lee was wearing a reddish brown shirt and he removed that soiled shirt in his room at 1:00pm and put on the shirt that the tuft of fibers came from.

Pat Speer brilliantly explains this in his online book.

The problem with the Kennedy case is that there's too much evidence."

And that's the problem with Pat Speers on line book.....  Pat has done an excellent job of researching the shirt issue, but IMO he provides too much information.   The average reader probably can't keep up with all of the twists and turns.....

Howeve, Pat is right...The picture that emerges when the smoke clears is.... Hoover and his FBI agents were conspirators....Some agents were accessories before the fact, and some FBI agents were accessories after the fact.

There are several gargantuan lies in the above.....Take your pick as to which lie is the worst.

A )  The FBI said that the carcano belonged to Lee Oswald and it was the rifle used to kill President Kennedy.

It was never proved that Lee Owned the carcano.....But it sure as hell was NOT the murder weapon.

B)  They also said that the tuft of fibers matched the shirt that Lee Oswald was wearing at the time of the murder, and that was the same shirt that Lee was wearing at the Texas Theater.    ...... Another damned lie.....

Doesn't this issue revolve around whether the arrest shirt had a hole in it while Oswald was wearing it?

Could be that Oswald's shirt sleeves had twisted around, maybe because of the way the officers clutched his arms. Oswald doesn't strike me as the type of fellow who changed his shirt in the middle of the day.

Therefore he was a killer? What kind of guy DOES change their shirt before they hit the street?
Another look---

No hole. No cop twisting his arm. If Mary Bledsoe saw it...anybody should be able to.

No that's not possible.....Please read Pat Spears comments on this theory.....

Quote on..."The Warren Commission and FBI, in order to silence skeptics claiming the shirt Oswald was wearing on the evening of 11-22-63 was not the shirt whose fibers matched the fibers found on the rifle, decided to re-create some of the press photos of Oswald on that evening, to demonstrate the shirts were one and the same. They then had FBI photo analyst Lyndal Shaneyfelt testify that the shirts matched. He did so on 9-1-64.

The problem, as one can tell by comparing the Dallas-Times Herald photo at right above with Shaneyfelt's recreation of this photo (at middle above), is that the recreated photo shows a hole in the elbow where no hole was apparent on the 22nd.

That Shaneyfelt was aware of this problem is suggested, moreover, by the extremely dark nature of the original photo as presented in Shaneyfelt's exhibit (at left above). It's as if he was trying to hide something... Hmmm...

In any event, I've concluded that someone (almost certainly the FBI itself) put a hole in the elbow of the shirt, in order to effect an ID of the shirt by Bledsoe."
...unquote

There is a series of photo preceding this excerpt ....take a look....

That's nice. Maybe you can show us where the sleeve button or cuff slit is in the Times-Herald photo, so we can be sure we're looking at the same part of the shirt isolated in the exhibit photo.
