Trump hinted Jan 6th would be his 'last-ditch' attempt to overturn the election results: filmmaker Alex Holder

In an interview with the Guardian's Hugo Lowell, a British documentary maker who was filming behind-the-scenes footage in Donald Trump's White House on Jan 6th claimed he knew something bad was about to happen before supporters of the former president stormed the Capitol and sent lawmakers fleeing for their lives.

Alex Holder, whose film crew was on hand and filming Trump and his children Don Jr, Eric and Ivanka on Jan 6th, stated there was a feeling among his people that something momentous was about to happen.

According to Lowell, "Holder was there for it all: three sit-down interviews with Trump, including one at the White House, numerous other interviews with Trump’s adult children, private conversations among top aides and advisers before the election, and around the Capitol itself as it got stormed." adding, "The access to Trump, and listening to him and his inner circle, led him to suspect that the former president’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election would somehow culminate in some event at the Capitol on 6 January."

Asked about what his feeling was prior to the riot that engulfed the Capitol building, Holder explained, "I wasn’t 100% sure, but it was sort of a feeling, so we prepared for that thing to happen. The reason we thought January 6 was because, in Trump’s mind, the last-ditch effort was to stop the process” of the vote certification by Congress.

He elaborated, "That ceremonial process that takes place in Congress on January 6, he felt, was the last time where he could, in his mind, stop the election going to the wrong person, as it were. The rhetoric that was coming out was that the election was rigged, [that] we need to fight.”

According to the Guardian report, Holder has, "testified for about four hours behind closed doors last week about his roughly 100 hours of footage, used for an upcoming documentary titled Unprecedented, and turned over to House investigators the parts demanded in a subpoena compelling his cooperation."

Lowell added, "Holder said he additionally did a one-to-one interview with then-vice president Mike Pence, including a scene where Pence briefly reviews an email about the 25th amendment – which concerns the removal of a US president – which was privately discussed among senior White House officials in the wake of the Capitol attack."

A Trump witness tampering investigation would be a 'goldmine for prosecutors': legal analyst

Appearing on MSNBC's "Katie Phang Show" on Saturday morning, former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade stated that it would be well worth the time of House investigators to launch a major inquiry of witness tampering by Donald Trump and his associates because it could turn up more people they could flip on the former president.

Speaking with the MSNBC host, the legal analyst said she would enjoy following the veiled threats being delivered to former White House officials who have been speaking with the House committee investigating the Jan 6th Capitol insurrection.

"If you are still a federal prosecutor, and based on the evidence so far, would you be willing to prosecute a case for witness tampering?" the MSNBC host asked.

"Well, I don't know if we would be in prosecution's state yet but I would sure be interested in investigating," she replied. "Katie, as you know, investigating things like witness tampering and other types of obstruction of justice can be a real goldmine for prosecutors. Because it can lead to a path that the person may not have exposed themselves to without making those kinds of statements. So, for example, here, we have someone communicating a message, Cassidy Hutchinson says on behalf of Mark Meadows -- who is that someone?"

"Talking to that someone could be very valuable," McQuade added. "It is clearly an intermediary, and that person has some problems if they are conveying a message intended to tamper with witnesses. So talking to that person can get you to the person who made the statement, whether Mark Meadows or anyone else. In that way, prosecutors can work their way up the chain and use this charge as leverage to get cooperation for maybe bigger more substantive matters."

Trump wanted to ‘neutralize' the presidential chain of succession by seizing power at the Capitol: expert
.

Fascism expert Ruth Ben-Ghiat provided fascinating insight — and a terrifying prediction about future Republican Party violence — when she was interviewed by CNN's Jim Acosta on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified that on Jan. 6, Trump was "irate" when the Secret Service would not drive him to the Capitol and lunged for the steering wheel of his presidential limousine.

Acosta began that interview by noting that weeks before Hutchinson's testimony, Ben-Ghiat had informed his audience that Trump had to go to the Capitol for the phase of a coup where the new order would be announced. Acosta described her analysis as "almost clairvoyant."

"And we have since learned that Trump did try to go to the Capitol on Jan. 6, but his Secret Service stopped him," Acosta said. "Ruth, what is your reaction to everything we learned this week, including this new CNN reporting that seems to back up what Cassidy Hutchison was saying?"

"I'm really disturbed, not surprised, about the role of violence," the New York University professor replied.

"It was very telling to me that Trump said chief of staff Mark Meadows, who seems to have been like the control center of this operation, she said that when the violence broke out, he didn't seem concerned at all, and he didn't seem perturbed, and that's because violence was part of the plan. It has to be in a coup," she explained.

"That's also why Trump wanted the, you know, weapons detectors removed, and so the other thing that stands out is that not only did he want to be driven there to the Capitol and be at the head of this, you know, violent thug march into the Capitol, but Ms. Hutchinson testified that there were conversations about him entering the chamber," she continued. "And what that says to me is first, you know, you've neutralized the presidential chain of succession. They were going to do something to Pence, they were hunting Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi, speaker, and so he was going to also have fixed the problem with the electoral counts because Pence wasn't there, and then he was going to declare himself at the head of this violent mob in the chamber as a legitimate president, and that's where that phase of the coup would have ended."

"It's extraordinary what we're learning from these hearings," she said.

Acosta asked Ben-Ghiat to compare Trump to other leaders she has studied.

She said Trump, "and his party are behaving in a desperate way, and when autocrats think they're going down, they will do anything -- and we've seen Jan. 6 -- to stay in power. What's really extraordinary is how Trump, who came from outside politics, put the GOP in such a state of authoritarian subjection and discipline that the whole party is completely compromised. We're learning from these hearings just how many people were involved," she said.

"And unfortunately, I think we can expect more extremist behavior, aggressive behavior from the party because they are acting out of fear. They're guilty, and their coup failed, and they've been exposed to the world by these hearings, and so they are -- they're in emergency mode," Ben-Bhiat warned.

The white supremacist hate group known as "Patriot Front" are no patriots. These are the same scumbags that refused to wear masks during the worst period of the pandemic but they have no problem wearing masks to conceal their identities when they are marching for hate.

These far right wing fascists are Trump supporters. They also back and have the support from Trump's fascist MAGA candidates running for office. And these hate groups are never condemned by the Republican party.

Right wingers are trying to normalize white supremacy and Nazism in America. We fought against Hitler, Nazism, and fascism during World War II to defeat it. Trump and his hate cult want to bring it back to America.

4 years of Trump made it possible for these lowlifes to crawl out from under their rocks trying to normalize white power and Nazism in America.

The goal of these hate groups and MAGA is to have an all white society, as they state they want to "Reclaim America" like it was back in the 1850's.

Women have lost their rights because of a radical fascist Republican party, and these same GOP fascists are coming for your Social Security and Medicare next if the GOP takes over Congress. The GOP tax plan will make seniors and middle class Americans pay high taxes at $1200 minimum. The GOP plan also calls to "sunset" Social Security/Medicare which will essentially kill it off, because Republicans will never vote "yes" to keep it functioning.

Do you want an America where right wing radicals who idolize Hitler is in charge of our government?

Want to lose your Medicare and Social Security because of MAGA candidates that feel you don't need to have it?

"Patriot Front" white supremacists are trying to put these MAGA radicals in our government as they march for white supremacy and Trump's fascist candidates.

Below, you can see these "Patriot Front" white supremacists assaulting an African American man on the streets of Boston today. Below the photo is the video of them marching through Boston.

Trump's fascist MAGA supporters love seeing this. We must defeat white supremacy, Nazism, and the GOP in the 2022 midterm election.

Dozens of white supremacists in group called Patriot Front seen marching through Boston

BOSTON -- Dozens of masked white supremacists marched through Boston on Saturday.

The group wore white masks and were seen boarding Orange Line trains at Haymarket Station. Some carried police shields and flags.

They are members of a group called Patriot Front.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors extremist ideology, Patriot Front promotes fascism and the creation of a white ethnostate.

In response to the group's visit to Boston, Mayor Michelle Wu said in a statement to WBZ-TV, "The disgusting, hateful actions and words of white supremacist groups are not welcome in this city. Especially in a moment when so many of our rights are under attack, we will not normalize intimidation by bigots. This weekend as we remember Boston's legacy as the cradle of liberty, we celebrate the continued fight to expand those liberties for all and ensure that Boston will be a city for everyone."

Large group of The Patriot Front white supremacists march through downtown Boston Saturday afternoon

A large group of masked white supremacists dressed in hats, combat boots, khakis and navy shirts marched through downtown Boston Saturday afternoon holding shields, flags and a banner that read, “Reclaim America”.

The group appeared to be The Patriot Front, a white nationalist hate group that broke off from Vanguard America following the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, on August 12, 2017, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

A video circulating on Twitter Saturday shows a large group of men marching through Boston holding shields and flags, many of which were upside-down American flags, Betsy Ross flags and flags with the fasces symbol displayed.

One person in the video can be seen and heard playing a snare marching drum.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu addressed the group on Twitter.

“To the white supremacists who ran through downtown today,” she wrote. “When we march, we don’t hide our faces. Your hate is as cowardly as it is disgusting, and it goes against all that Boston stands for.”

According to the Boston Herald, shortly past 1 p.m., the group marched down Commonwealth Avenue before stopping by the Boston Public Library where The Patriot Front flyers were found. Social media posts also report seeing the group march along the Freedom Trail.

New Jersey congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. is absolutely correct.

Big Oil is taking in record profits by gouging American gas consumers. Big Gas and Oil are artificially keeping prices high to make you pay more for gas so they can make huge profits.

Recently, House Democrats put a Bill on the House floor to be voted on. That Bill was called the "Big Oil and Gas Price Gouging Bill" which would immediately stop Big Oil from price gouging consumers at the pump. Gas prices will immediately drop when this Bill becomes law.

As you can see in the official House of Representatives vote screenshot below, EVERY single House Republican voted "NO" against lowering gas prices for American consumers and stopping Big Oil from price gouging you at the pump.

This Bill should have had a "YES" vote from EVERY single Republican. This is just another Bill Republicans voted against helping Americans. And this is the same do nothing Republican party that wants to be in control of congress.

This Bill passed in the House only because Democrats control the House. Republicans don't care that you are paying high gas prices.

After the Bill passed the House, it went to the Senate where it is now currently being blocked by Senate Republicans. Mitch McConnell refuses to bring it up for a vote because he wants gas prices to remain high so Republicans can keep attacking Biden and Democrats for high gas prices. Republicans are playing politics with your finances. Republicans think keeping gas prices high on purpose will help then politically in November.

That's what the Republicans have been doing since January 2021, the GOP House votes "NO" on the agenda the overwhelming majority of Americans want and then the GOP Senate blocks it from becoming law. Then these same right wing Republicans and the right wing media attack Biden and Democrats. It's pure sabotage from these Republicans as they think their obstruction will help then politically in November.

Remember this in November....Republicans can lower gas prices right now if they allowed the "Big Oil and Gas Price Gouging Bill" to be voted on in the Senate because it would pass and become law. They don't want it to because they need an "issue" to attack Biden. So, the Senate GOP is purposely keeping gas prices high by blocking this Bill. And because of Republican political games, they are making you pay more for gas as their Big Oil buddies continue to make BILLIONS in profits. Doesn't this make you angry? It sure does make me angry since there is no need of this.

Remember in November.

Bill Pascrell, Jr. @Bill Pascrell

This July 4th if you get robbed at the pump filling your car - thank republicans. When we recently moved to stop greedy gas gougers, every single republican voted no.

https://twitter.com/BillPascrell/status/1543283817586237440

EVERY single Republican in the House voted NO to lower gas prices for you but they feign outrage on Twitter over high gas prices as they constantly attack Biden. Republicans don't care that you are paying high gas prices, otherwise they would have voted "YES" to lower gas prices for you.

Biden has nothing to do with high gas prices as the entire world is paying even higher gas prices than the United States.

The GOP had the perfect opportunity to lower high gas prices from Big Oil price gouging. The Republican House voted "NO" to lower gas prices and the Republican Senate is blocking this bill from becoming law which would immediately lower gas prices.

This is GOP sabotage because they think hammering away on high gas prices gives them a "political issue" for the midterms when Republicans could have voted "YES" to lower gas prices for you.

Remember in November.

Here's the record gas profits Big Oil is taking in thanks to Republicans by making you pay more for gas at the pump. All Republicans had to do was vote "YES" to stop Big Oil from taking advantage of you and they refused. Republicans want you paying more because they think that will get them votes in November. Republicans are playing politics with your finances!
