Mr. Plant wrote: "Mr. Gailbraith has no clue what he's talking about. The "Liberal Media" is a myth and a talking point that right wingers use to play the victim and to justify buying up more media markets. "
Nowhere did I mention or write or say "the liberal media." Nowhere.
My post was challenging Mr. Plant's claim that, again, "All media is far right.dominated by the far right". That is what he stated.
My apology for the above: Mr. Plant said "dominated by the far right" and I erroneously left that out although I quoted it correctly in my original post above.
Again, by no reasonable standard can one say that in the US "all media is dominated by the far right." All means all. Not most but all. The NY Times is not far right. MSNBC is not far right. CNN is not far right. The Washington Post is not far right. The NY Times endorsed Mr. Biden for President and four years ago they endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. So did the Washington Post. Why would "far right" newspapers, as they allegedly are since "all media" is "dominated by the far right", endorse Biden and Clinton? It's illogical.
Whether they are liberal or not is a different question. The discussion is whether those entities are "far right" (they aren't) and part of this "dominated by" claim. If "all media is dominated by the far right" as Mr. Plant said then they must be "dominated". But these are major news organizations with great influence in America. They are not "dominated" by "far right" news stations across the country.
Note: I edited some of the above for clarity.
In any case, let's go back to the JFK assassination which is what Duncan wants us to talk about.
Yes, the United States media is dominated by the far right. That is a fact. Nobody can argue against that.
Radio, print media, cable news, and local news on ABC, CBS, NBC tv affiliates are all dominated by the far right. Right wing media corporations have a monopoly on radio and television.
Can Mr. Gailbraith (or anybody else) name one liberal broadcasting company that owns thousands of local radio and television stations all across America? No he can't, because no liberal broadcasting company like that exists.
Sinclair and Cumulus Broadcasting are right wing owned companies that dominate the local radio and television markets with right wing propaganda. No liberal tv or radio company like that exists in America. The "Liberal Media" claim is an absolute joke.
The right continuously makes the bogus claim that the media is "all Liberal" which is total b.s. when these right wingers own nearly every single radio station and the television affiliate pushing pure right wing propaganda.
The NY Times, Washington Post etc. has conservative writers and they publish hit pieces against Democrats. To call those organizations "liberal media" is a joke, because if they were "all liberal", you would never see those stories in print.
Wall Street Journal and Washington Times are a couple of right wing owned newspapers that dominates print media.
Every media outlet is dominated by the right: radio, television and print. Right wing propaganda newspapers like the Epoch Times are being sent for free all over America looking for subscribers. There is no "liberal media" that has thousands of radio stations for liberals, no ABC, CBS, NBC local tv stations across America that has liberal local newscasts. Those are all right wing dominated media pushing their bogus propaganda to the entire country. That far right wing media dominates the United States media in radio and television.
Mr. Gailbraith can't name one "liberal media" t.v. station, radio channel, newspaper, cable news channel that pushes pure propaganda like we see on Faux, OAN, NewsMax, Sinclair Broadcasting, Cumulus channels, Washington Times. They simply do not exist. Even in the most Democratic cities no all liberal radio stations exist. But several right wing talk radio stations do exist in those cities. Again, where is this so called "Liberal Media" at?
What other media is left Mr. Gailbraith? Where is this "Liberal Media" right wingers claim all the time?
The media is dominated by the far right. The "Liberal Media" claim the right uses is a myth so they can play the victim and justify buying up more media markets all across America.
