On 12 December 2020, Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio (currently charged with seditious conspiracy), posted photos taken at the White House on the social media platform Parler.

Why would the leader of a hate group have a "last minute invite" to the White House with Trump?

Did he have a personal meeting with Donald Trump on that day?

Why were prominent Republicans posing for pictures and hanging out with Proud Boys Leader Enrique Tarrio?

Americans deserve answers.

According to Mo Brooks, "freedom of speech" entitles him and other Republicans to push election fraud conspiracies by implementing illegal schemes to steal an election from the American people. That's clear treason.

He goes on to say, if Democrats pursue charges for the treasonous crimes that Republicans committed, "that's an abuse of power" which is why he and other Republicans need a presidential pardon.

So, Mo Brooks is admitting he and other Republicans are clearly guilty of serious crimes and they need a pardon from Trump to absolve them from any prosecution from the Justice Department.

First of all, prosecuting criminals is not an "abuse of power". That's how our legal system works. And we all know there was no "election fraud", and Mo Brooks knew it as well, which is why he was begging for a pardon for himself along with his fellow treasonous Republican co-conspirators.

This is an admission of guilt, and Criminal Donald himself gave these instructions on how to request a pardon which is also illegal.

The GOP is a criminal cult. Lock them all up for treason!

Mo Brooks texts email to CBS containing instructions from Donald Trump on how to request pardons

On Thursday evening, CBS News Chief Election and Campaign Correspondent Robert Costa posted a January 11th, 2021 email sent by United States Representative Mo Brooks (R-Alabama) to then-Special Assistant to the President and Oval Office Operations Coordinator Molly Michael on behalf of himself and congressional allies with instructions from former President Donald Trump on how they should request pardons for their roles in the January 6th, 2021 attempted coup.

The extraordinary memo was texted to CBS by Brooks and contains numerous typos as well as references to constitutional clauses that do not exist.

"Dear Mollie [sic]: President Trump told me to send you this letter," it begins. "This letter is pursuant to a request from [Congressman] Matt Gaetz [R-Florida]."

Gaetz, along with Congresspersons Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), Scott Perry (R-Pennsylvania), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia), was named in Thursday's House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol hearing as having joined Brooks' effort to solicit Trump for clemency.

The document continues:

It is clear that deep-pocketed and vitriolic Socialist Democrats (with perhaps some liberal Republican help) are going to abuse America's judicial system by targeting numerous Republicans with sham charges deriving from our recent fight for honest and accurate elections and speeches related thereto.

As such, I recommend that President [sic] give general (all purpose) pardons to the following groups of people:

Every Republican who signed the Amicus brief in the Texas lawsuit against other states deriving from their violation of Article I, Section 4 (and, perhaps, other) provision [sic] of the United States Constitution.

Every Congressman and Senator who voted to reject the electoral college vote submissions of Arizona and Pennsylvania.

America cannot simply permit Socialist Democrats to abuse Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Association [this is not in the Constitution], United States Constitution [sic] and various federal statutes via their often-used strategy of abusing the judicial process via private organizations they fund or the prosecutorial arm they will soon control.

Thank you for your consideration.

Mo Brooks

‘Stop the Steal’ organizer testified for 3 hours before DC grand jury: report

"Stop the Steal" rally organizer Ali Alexander reportedly testified this week before a Washington, DC federal grand jury investigating Donald Trump's coup attempt.

Alexander testified for almost three hours, his attorney, Paul Kamenar, told ABC News.

"CNN spotted Alexander entering and exiting the federal courthouse in Washington, DC, where a federal grand jury that has heard January 6-related matters meets. He spent about four hours at the courthouse on Friday behind closed doors," the network reported. "Alexander is the first-known, high-profile witness to testify in the confidential criminal investigative proceedings related to rally organizing. In April, he publicly confirmed he had received a subpoena and would cooperate with federal authorities."

Alexander, also known as Ali Abdul Akbar, was subpoenaed in October by the House Select Committee Investigating the Jan. 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol.

"He previously handed over thousands of communications and testified behind closed doors to the House select committee investigating the attack – a separate investigation. Alexander is one of the few individuals who has said he has ties to influential right-wing figures close to former President Donald Trump, members of Congress and extremist groups," CNN reported.

Trump's coup was much more organized than we knew

The Department of Justice plot was entwined with the John Eastman fake electors - Mike Pence plot

"What's the downside for humoring him for this little bit of time? No one seriously thinks the results will change," said one senior Republican official. "He went golfing this weekend. It's not like he's plotting how to prevent Joe Biden from taking power on Jan. 20. He's tweeting about filing some lawsuits, those lawsuits will fail, then he'll tweet some more about how the election was stolen, and then he'll leave." --- November 9, 2020, Washington Post

That senior Republican official is very lucky the journalist agreed to confer anonymity. It may be the most laughably incorrect prediction in history. The January 6 committee hearings are proving in meticulously laid out detail that Donald Trump plotted to prevent Joe Biden from taking power from the moment he lost the 2020 election. (Actually, he was laying the groundwork long before the election.)

Thursday's revelations came even before the fourth hearing began when news broke that the FBI had raided the home of Jeffrey Clark, the former Department of Justice (DOJ) official, and fierce Trump loyalist, whom Trump had wanted to install as acting attorney general in the days before the Capitol riot. It's unclear what crime they suspect Clark of committing but their suspicions were apparently strong enough to get a judge to issue a search warrant and presumably get the go-ahead from the highest levels of the DOJ. It may or may not be a coincidence that this warrant was served the day before the Jan. 6 committee was scheduled to publicly devote several hours to Trump's plot to enlist the DOJ in his corrupt plot to overturn the 2020 election, a plot in which Clark was intimately involved.

Once again the witness testimony in the hearing came from Republicans who had been appointed by Trump and had previously demonstrated fealty to him.

@AdamKinzinger

Yesterday’s January 6 hearing, was overrepresentative of one party. Only Republicans testified to almost only Republican questions from almost only Republican congressmen.

Former Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, former Deputy Attorney General Richard Donohue and former assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Counsel Steven Engel all testified on Thursday. Others from the administration appeared via video depositions, including members of the White House Counsel's office. They all testified to the fact that Donald Trump spent weeks pressuring, harassing and threatening them in an attempt to get them to investigate conspiracy theories and issue false statements about the 2020 election. These Republicans resisted every step of the way, making Trump more and more agitated.

"Just say the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen," Trump exasperatedly instructed on one call, according to Donohue's handwritten notes. If that sounds familiar, it is a deafening echo of the demand Trump made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was that all he wanted was for him to hold a press conference announcing an investigation into Joe Biden. That's Trump's M.O.

Jeffrey Clark was an obscure DOJ official who served for most of Trump's term served as assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division. He was appointed acting head of the Civil Division in September 2020. He was hardly a TV star lawyer who Trump would say was from "central casting" but he was a hardcore Trumpist who suffers from a bad case of Fox News brain rot so he happily found himself in the middle of coup plotting after having been brought to Trump's attention by a fellow Pennsylvanian Republican Rep. Scott Perry.

Rosen testified that he was bewildered when Trump brought him up in passing on one of his phone calls but he soon found out that Clark was being groomed by the president to replace him if he didn't do Trump's bidding. Clark broke protocol by scheming with the White House throughout this period rather than going through the proper channels. Another lawyer who no one had mentioned before the hearing, Ken Klukowski, was scheming with Trump attorney John Eastman and Clark from within the Justice Department, where he had evidently been placed on December 15th to work under the radar. Klukowski drafted a letter the coup plotters wanted Attorney General Bill Barr to send to Georgia and other states saying the DOJ was "investigating various irregularities in the 2020 election for President of the United States," which was misleading at best. (At this point they would perfunctorily follow up on some of Trump's wild ravings but had long since determined there was no fraud that could have changed the outcome of the election.) This letter also recommended that the Georgia General Assembly convene a special session to approve a new slate of electors. It indicated that a set of fake Trump electors had already been transmitted to the U.S. Capitol.

What this means is that the plot was not really operating on separate tracks as previously assumed. We now know that the Department of Justice plot was entwined with the John Eastman fake electors - Mike Pence plot. The coup was more organized than we knew.

Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney said:

Had this letter been released on official Department of Justice letterhead, it would have falsely informed all Americans, including those who might be inclined to come to Washington on January 6th, that President Trump's election fraud allegations were likely very real.

At the time Klukowski and Clark drafted the letter, Rosen and Clark were listed as signatories. But they refused to sign it and they and Engel and several others were called to a meeting at the White House on January 3rd during which Trump said he planned to replace Rosen with Clark. In fact, the committee showed the White House call logs for that day which showed they were already referring to Clark as acting attorney general. The DOJ honchos all told Trump that Clark was unqualified for the job. Needless to say, Trump would not care about that --- he's the president who named Matthew Whitaker, a man much less qualified than Clark, to be acting attorney general after he fired Jeff Sessions. He has long shown that his only criteria for hiring is loyalty to him. (Since they had all been Trump loyalists themselves perhaps that was an awkward realization.)

They had all agreed prior to the meeting that if Trump carried out this "Sunday Afternoon Massacre" they would quit en masse, taking a whole bunch of top DOJ officials with them. White House Counsel Pat Cippolone was quoted telling the president it was a "murder-suicide pact." Engel said the department would be a "graveyard." Trump would hardly care about any of that, of course. What likely caused him to back off was this argument by Engel:

https://twitter.com/Acyn/status/1540079060021395459

So much for the M.O. The optics just wouldn't work.

That was the end of the DOJ portion of the plot but it didn't stop Trump from calling up Donohue shortly after the meeting to ask him to investigate a cockamamie rumor about a truck full of shredded ballots that were in the custody of an ICE agent down in Georgia.

The Clark coup plot may have been thwarted but nothing was going to stop Trump from pushing the Big Lie, no matter what. After all, January 6 was coming up — and Trump knew it was going to be wild.

Documentary shows Trump ranting that Kemp and Raffensperger are cowards and 'stupid people': filmmaker

Among the most bizarre things that happened in the final weeks of Donald Trump's presidency is his White House and top adviser Jared Kushner allowed British filmmaker Alex Holder to document 11 hours of the former president, including on Jan. 6, 2021, and the days after.

Speaking to CNN on Saturday, Holder recalled a few unusual moments for him, the first being Trump's rant about Georgia Republican officials, Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who both refused to overturn the state's election for the president. The comment happened days after former Attorney General Bill Barr told the Associated Press that there was no election fraud in 2020. He was then attacked by Trump in person and publicly.

"President Trump at the time was furious about the position that he found himself in. I'm sitting across him in the White House and he's looking at me directly in the eye and he's saying that there was no way 'that guy,' and he's referring to President Biden, got 80 million votes," Holder recalled. "He starts talking to me about how this thing would be easily resolved. All he needs to do is get the signature verification and starts explaining how it should happen. And the reason it's not, he said, [it] is because the officials in Georgia were not brave enough to listen to him and open up these ballots and compare the signatures. And then he says that actually the reason why they're not doing it aside from being not brave enough, he says, they're stupid people, and he goes on about other conspiracies as well."

Acosta confirmed he meant Kemp and Raffensperger and Holder agreed.

"He said they're stupid people?" asked Acosta again. "And when he goes, you know, on this rant and talks about this stuff, I mean, do you push back? Do you say, hole on, none of is this true?"

"I think when, you know, the attorney general a few days earlier says there was absolutely no evidence to support his claims and the president still a few days later is telling me all these sorts of crazy claims, the idea I might persuade him is probably unlikely. So, I let him have his peace," said Holder. "My job is to record history and this is a unique moment where the sitting president of the United States, the sitting, you know, in the White House looking me in the eye and telling me that he actually won the 2020 election when in fact he didn't."

The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on Congress and the attempt to overthrow the 2020 election has subpoenaed all 11 hours of the film and is reviewing it.

Holder previously told reporters that Trump had a mysterious call on Air Force One with Russian President Vladimir Putin less than two weeks before the election. Trump was supposed to be filming Trump on the plane but it got canceled due to the call with Putin.

"That stood out to you as being strange?" asked Acosta.

"I mean, he's a world leader speaking to another world leader. I didn't think it was particularly strange. The entire experience was strange. I was on Air Force One," Holder said.

Detailing Crimes May Have Discouraged Trump From Pardons

An MSNBC panel looks at the members of Congress who were revealed by the January 6th Committee to have asked for pardons from Donald Trump for their role in his effort to negate his election loss, and considers the possibility that listing the crimes being pardoned was not something Trump was comfortable doing.
