Red tsunami?  :D :D :D

When you lose the independent vote the ballgame is over!

Republicans' Actions and Policies Are Toxically Unpopular

Over the last several years, Republicans and their policies have grown increasingly extreme. The party has pushed past the bounds of acceptable behavior time and again, and become a font of bigotry, lies, and conspiracy theories.

In a new Data for Progress poll of 1,254 likely voters fielded from July 30 to August 2, we examined voter attitudes towards top Republican policy priorities and some of their most prominent actions over the past year. The actions we polled included widespread GOP claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, and comments comparing mask mandates to the Holocaust. We find that a majority of likely voters broadly disapprove of the Republican Party’s priorities and actions, and disapprove most strongly with Republican conduct around the 2020 election and the recent conduct of Republican elected officials.

Controversial personalities aren’t Republicans only problem. Voters also overwhelmingly disapprove of their encouragement of the violent protests at the U.S. Capitol on January 6 by a 55-point margin. Voters disapprove of GOP objections to the Electoral College by a 21-point margin, and Republican claims that the election was stolen by a 19-point margin.

The only two aspects of GOP politics that polled anywhere close to even were the party’s support for Donald Trump and its record of confirming conservative judges to lifetime appointments on the federal bench. Still, in both cases, a plurality of voters disapprove of these extreme positions.

Lastly, a strong majority of likely voters disapprove of the policy priorities that Republicans have pursued over the past years. The most unpopular policies we polled were tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy, and laws making it more difficult for people to vote: Voters disapproved of these policies by a 58-point margin, and a 57-point margin, respectively. They also disapprove of the party’s climate-change denial and their efforts to block climate-change legislation by a 55-point margin.

These high levels of disapproval remained consistent among large majorities of Democrats, independents, and Republicans, though they’re especially strong among Democratic voters. Our findings indicate that of all the GOP’s political liabilities, Democrats are most disturbed by the party’s reaction to Donald Trump losing the presidential election to Joe Biden.

Our polling found that Democrats disapprove of Republican claims that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” by a 70-point margin. We also found that Democrats disapprove of Republican attempts to subvert the election results by blocking the certification of electoral college votes by a 62-point margin. Democrats also strongly disapprove of encouraging violent siege of the U.S Capitol, as occured on January 6, by a 67-point margin.

Only Gaetz and Greene reach these levels of disapproval, which is to say Democratic voters view the insurrection and Trump’s efforts to seize an unelected second term as dimly as they view statutory rape and making light of the Holocaust.

The outlook isn’t much better for Republicans among independents. They disapprove of Gaetz sending money to underaged women by a 69-point margin; of Republicans encouraging violent protests on the U.S Capitol  by a 57-point margin, and of Greene’s comments by a 49-point margin.

Independents likewise oppose striking down sections of the Voting Rights Act and making it more difficult for Americans to vote by a margin of 36 points, and are against cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy by a margin of 31 points.

Likely Republican voters are, unsurprisingly less-hostile to the GOP than Democrats and independents, and even approve of Republican objections to the Electoral College vote and of claims that the election was stolen. However, we also found that some GOP antics and scandals are too toxic for their own voters.

They disapprove of Gaetz’s conduct by a margin of 50 points, of Greene’s comments by a 35-point margin, and of encouraging the violent assault on the U.S Capitol by a 40-point margin.

Republican voters also disapprove of cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy and striking down sections of the Voting Rights Act to make it more difficult to vote by 10- and two-point margins, respectively.

This polling makes it clear that voters, even Republican voters, can’t tolerate many of the actions and policies that define the GOP. It’s clear that the path the Republican Party has taken in recent years isn’t just morally wrong, it’s also politically risky. Republican politicians aren’t delivering for their constituencies or their voters and it’s important that we replace them with politicians who will.

Amazing how many crimes Criminal Donald committed.

Trump under yet another criminal probe — this time for his Westchester golf course

Donald Trump is facing yet another criminal investigation, The New York Times reported Wednesday.

"In recent months, the district attorney's office in suburban Westchester County, N.Y., has subpoenaed records from the course, Trump National Golf Club Westchester, and the town of Ossining, which sets property taxes on the course, a sprawling private club that is perched on a hill north of New York City and boasts a 101-foot waterfall," the newspaper reported.

In November, former MSNBC legal analyst Mimi Rocah was elected Westchester district attorney. The newspaper reported Rocah "appears to be focused at least in part on whether Mr. Trump's company, the Trump Organization, misled local officials about the property's value to reduce its taxes, one of the people said."

Trump is also under investigation by state Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr.

"Ms. Rocah, a Democrat, has not accused anyone at the company of wrongdoing, and it is unclear whether the investigation is examining Mr. Trump's conduct or if it would ultimately lead to any charges," The Times reported. "Still, the Westchester inquiry intensifies the law enforcement scrutiny on Mr. Trump and his family business. Both have been the subject of a long-running criminal investigation by the Manhattan district attorney's office, which is examining a range of potential financial and tax improprieties."

The GOP is no longer a party that holds the values of Ronald Reagan which was always a mirage anyway. Even though they claimed to be the party of "family values", "fiscal conservatism", "Pro Life", "Defenders of the Constitution", "Pro Military" it was always a con and they never did actually believed in what they preached.

Case in point: Criminal Donald and the 2016-2021 GOP. Criminal Donald cheated on all his wives and has no values, but the GOP worships him anyway. The GOP under Reagan, Bush, and Trump exploded our debt by the trillions. Trump added $8 trillion to the debt in 2017 along with the GOP by giving trillions in tax cuts to billionaires and corporations. Now this same GOP Congress refuses to pay off the debt they created. How is that "fiscal conservatism"?

The same GOP that claims to be "Pro Life" has done everything possible to keep a deadly virus surging and killing off as many people as possible. This same GOP has told outright lies and pushed deadly anti vaccine disinformation, but what is even worse, they blatantly blocked mandates that saves lives so that more people will die. If the GOP was actually "Pro Life", they would have done everything possible to save the lives of their own supporters. The GOP would have embraced vaccine mandates along with advocating for wearing masks and social distancing which saved millions of lives. But instead, the GOP decided to turn mandates and mask wearing into a political issue which allowed hundreds of thousands of Americans to die and kept this virus surging to this very day. That is not being "Pro Life". The GOP only takes up the phony "Pro Life" stance of abortion so they can use it for a political issue to get the evangelical vote. The GOP has no regard for actual human life.

Donald Trump mocked military heroes and disparaged our military Generals. His rabid supporters went right along with it disparaging John McCain who they used to support but instead now worship a vile anti American draft dodger who never served his country. So, the GOP is not pro military. The GOP always used them as pawns for their phony platform.

The GOP voted twice to let Criminal Donald off the hook in his 2 impeachment trials. They defended and allowed Trump to trash and destroy our democracy and Constitution. They defend him for openly trying to overthrow the US Government. They defend the insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol. 202 Republicans today voted not to hold Steve Bannon in contempt of defying a congressional subpoena. Republicans want Trump and his thugs to get away with all their crimes.

The GOP today is a cult and their only purpose is to serve, worship, and take orders from Trump. They have zero interest in working for the American people or preserving our democracy, Constitution, and laws. Even the basic principles they have thrown out in the garbage for Trump. If you attempted to defy a congressional subpoena, you would be thrown in jail but 202 Republicans today voted for Steve Bannon to defy a congressional subpoena. The Republicans voted in support for Steve Bannon because they too hate America and are insurrectionists that wanted Trump to overthrow the US Government and to illegally seize power as dictator. The GOP will be defeated massively in 2022.

This is what success looks like.

Inside the 'secret corruption' during the Trump administration -- from the former president's own ethics chief

Donald Trump's former ethics czar saw some "horrifying" violations before he was shut out by the administration.

Walter Shaub, who was appointed director of the United States Office of Government Ethics during the Obama administration and spent nine months in the same role under Trump, told The Daily Beast's "New Abnormal" podcast that ethical breaches were big and plentiful under the former president.

"The worst thing was President Trump's failure to divest his conflicting financial interests, which he then made worse by promoting those financial interests aggressively using the presidency," Shaub said.

Members of the administration also used "secret waivers" as "get-out-of-jail-free" cards, but no one could ever produce those cards for Shaub.

"The secret of the secret waivers was that there were no secret waivers," he said. "They were just letting people break the rules."

Trump blasted for 'chilling' new rant: 'This statement is an act of war against America'

Donald Trump, the twice-impeached former president, on Thursday issued what is being called a "chilling" statement on the election and the insurrection he incited.

"The insurrection took place on November 3, Election Day. January 6 was the Protest!" Trump said in a statement released Thursday afternoon.

Former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh simply and clearly calls it an "act of war."

@WalshFreedom "This statement is an act of war against America. ANY Republican who does not publicly rebuke this statement must be defeated. ANY Republican"

U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) during debate on the House floor has "repeatedly" been "calling on Republicans to denounce the Trump statement," according to reporter Jamie Dupree.

@jamiedupree "In debate on the January 6 investigation today on the House floor, Democrats are repeatedly bringing up this new statement from Donald Trump.  Rep. Jim Clyburn D-SC says the "Big Lie" is just like the "Lost Cause" after the Civil War."

"All my colleagues were elected on November 3," McGovern said. "If you believe that Election Day was an insurrection, then your election results are illegitimate."

McGovern is not the only one to blast the Trump statement:

Some journalists are also slamming the former president's latest remarks.

S.V. Dáte, the White House correspondent at HuffPost weighed in, saying, "Donald Trump tried to overthrow American democracy after he lost his election by 7 million votes, but nearly a year later, he's still lying. About all of it."

Washington Post national political reporter Felicia Sonmez called it a "chilling statement … that makes clear his stance on peaceful democracy vs. violent insurrection."

Washington Post White House bureau chief Ashley Parker pointed to the statement and said: "In which Trump's shamelessness continues to be his political super power."

ProPublica Senior Reporter Peter Elkind says: "This is the position of the widely embraced leader of the GOP. Republicans all behind that?"

No Russian collision? LOL. Another Trump Russian stooge goes down. Criminal Donald looks senile, feeble, and ill in this photo

Rudy Giuliani henchman Lev Parnas found guilty on all counts

Lev Parnas, a former henchman to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, was found guilty on all six criminal counts leveled against him on Friday.

In a quickly rendered verdict, a jury found Parnas guilty of the most serious charge leveled against him, conspiracy to make foreign contributions to political campaigns.

Parnas was also found guilty of making false statements, falsifying records, and other crimes.

Parnas was arrested along with fellow Giuliani henchman Igor Fruman back in 2019 for allegedly setting up a shell company to funnel hundreds of thousands in Russian donations to Republican candidates.

Parnas and Fruman were also key figures in Giuliani's attempts to shake down the Ukrainian government to publicly announce an investigation into President Joe Biden, who at the time was seen as former President Donald Trump's biggest potential rival for the 2020 presidential election.

Trump ordered military aid from Ukraine to be withheld shortly after asking the Ukrainian president to do him a "favor" by investigating Biden.

Trump's actions would result in his first impeachment in late 2019. He would be impeached again just over a year later for inciting a deadly riot at the United States Capitol building.

Yes, things are going so well under Biden that his approval ratings has dropped even lower to 37%.  If he keeps up the good work, it will soon be zero.  Inflation, crime, shortages, 2 million illegal aliens, Afghanistan, and on and on.  Stop being so good to us Joe!   Meanwhile 78% of Republicans now support Trump as the 2024 nominee.   The red tsunami is closer every day.
