Journalists, opposition politicians murdered or imprisoned, invasion of Ukraine, maybe include invasion of Georgia too, though,  I don't know that situation as well.

Assad as an ally, Russia in Syria. Pretty heavyhanded.   Russia poisoning or otherwise assassinating persons on foreign soil.
