Lee Oswald's Note to FBI Agent Hosty
« on: January 25, 2018, 02:20:06 PM »
There is a great deal of controversy surrounding the note that Lee Oswald delivered to the Dallas office of the FBI about ten days before the murder of President Kennedy.  Some folks believe that the note was a threat to commit some rash act by Lee Oswald....

I've been focusing this aspect for a while and I've came to the conclusion that Lee was angry at Hosty because Hosty had tried use his power as an FBI agent to seduce Marina Oswald, his wife.

It seems to me that Lee was threatening to file a formal complaint against Hosty ....

Lee had never met Hosty prior to the interrogation session that occurred in Captain Fritz office at the DPD at about 3:15 on the afternoon of 11 /22 /63.    When Hosty was introduced to Lee, Lee became very angry and said something Like ..."Oh, so you are the FBI agent, Hosty, the man whose been accosting my wife"

In his book Assignment:  Oswald Hosty says that the subject of the note that he received about ten days prior to that afternoon said something like...  "Stay away from my wife, If you want to talk to me we can meet, but leave my wife alone."

I believe that Lee probably continued with something like ..... "You have told her that you could have her deported if she doesn't cooperate .....  Though she isn't fluent in English she understood what you were trying to do.  If you don't leave her alone, I will file  formal complaint against you "

Based on what?

Quote

"Bother" not "accost".  Hosty came to the Paine's house and was asking questions about Lee when he wasn't around.  He didn't like that.

Where did you get the idea that Hosty wanted to seduce Marina?

Perhaps you need to refresh your memory of the report of Captain Fritz about Lee's eruption of anger at Hosty....

Fritz said that Lee accused FBI agent Hosty of ACCOSTING his wife......

Methinks you're cherry-picking one of the lesser-used definitions in the list.

And you got the idea that he was trying to seduce her . . . from where exactly?  The dictionary?  The fabrication machine inside your brain?

Here is what Hosty wrote about the note (this is from the book "Assignment Oswald"):

The KGB officers who met Oswald (well before Hosty interviewed Marina) when he went to Mexico City said he was upset and angry about "the notorious FBI" (his words) and that he showed them a revolver that he said he needed to protect himself.

John Fain, the first FBI agent that the Oswalds were assigned to, said that Oswald was surly and uncooperative when he was first interviewed. But he was more cooperative on the second. Fain said he also interviewed Marguerite and Robert.

And, from what I've read, the radical left publications that Oswald read carried stories critical of the FBI's practices. We can add Marina's account in the Priscilla McMillan book. Nowhere does she mention Hosty trying to seduce her.

So, it seems that Oswald could have been angry at Hosty for reasons having nothing to do with his idea that Hosty was trying to seduce Marina. Although who knows? Maybe it was a mixture of reasons including his suspicions about Marina's fidelity.

Hosty wrote the book long after the fact....and naturally he would put the spin he wanted on that note....

Do you really believe that lee would have been livid with Hosty when they came face to face if what he writes in Assignment Oswald is the truth???..... I seriously doubt that simply asking Marina questions about his employment and where he had a room would have caused Lee to accuse Hosty of "accosting" marina, and threatening to file a complaint.

Marina's account in the Priscilla McMillan book. Nowhere does she mention Hosty trying to seduce her.

In the book Marina and Lee CIA agent Pricilla Mc Millian says that Marina really liked that nice FBI agent ( Hosty)

Lee was trying to tell her to beware of the FBI.....but she was very supportive of Hosty. and described him as being "very nice"......But less than a month later after the murder of  her husband Lee,  she wouldn't even talk to Hosty....  and Robert Oswald who was there a Six Flags detected Marina's animosity toward Hosty.....  Why the change??

Another point that should be mentioned id WHERE AND WHEN did Marina get Hosty's car license plate number so that she could give it to Lee?   Lee had that number in his address book....   The Warren Commission tried to determine how Marina was able to obtain Hosty's license number and were unable to discover how she had accomplished that....

Perhaps the nice FBI agent paid a visit to Marina when Ruth Paine was away on an errand ......
