Since at least late 2016, Steve Thomas has been actively posting about
"Revolt of the Colonels," and encouraging others to perform and
post collaborative research results, a phenomena rather infrequently
substantive in these forums. (I know....I am swinging for the fences in this
thread, a thing I often advise others not to do!)

Unfortunately for Steve, his recent research efforts along this vein have
rekindled my effort to overcome a dead end in the research pursuit I am
most challenged by and familiar with. IOW....can all of these coincidences
simply be dismissed as purely coincidental, or are they building blocks actually
forming a fertile pattern of inquiry?

...I see DeMohrenschildt assigned to the dipping of Oswald, Priscilla Johnson assigned to write key narratives,
and more than once. I see Tom Devine carrying out an assignment to interface with DeMohrenschildt at critical point in the timeline, and Devine's old fraternity Bud,
Garry Coit, similarly assigned to Priscilla Johnson. The publishing team behind Priscilla's "work" with both Marina and Svetlana was led by Allen Dulles's subsequent
biographer, Cass Canfield. Cass's stepson was involved in the Paris Review with Matthiessen and Plimpton, and Tom Guinzburg was Matthiessen's Yale roommate
and an usher in John Macomber's wedding (see displayed wedding announcement.) John Macomber financially backed Bush, Jr. and hired Devine as a Celanese V.P. Macomber's brother was the best man in Nancy Bush's and in Devine's wedding.

John Macomber teamed up with senior Knight of Malta in the U.S. , William HG Fitzgerald, to lead the Atlantic Council. An usher in Fitzgerald's wedding, Oliver W. Hammonds, became Jack Crichton's accountant and Arabian Shield partner. Hammonds and his accounting partner, George Day, along with Stuart Dyckman, U.S. Naturalization sponsor of George Bouhe, all served as presidents of the tiny, Dallas Harvard Club.

You'd have to read carefully the Paul Hellmuth thread and mull over the names and connections in my last post in that thread.:

You'd have to ask yourself why a lawyer partnered with Paul F. Hellmuth at Hale & Dorr, Joseph N. Welch, would be dragging himself and several of his colleagues down to Washington to represent the U.S. Army, pro bono? Was the Army indigent, incapable of paying for legal counsel?
What do you make of the spectacle of Roy Cohen and G. David Schine? Their antics triggered Welch's decision to take on the Army as a charity case. Schine was as at least as vigorously and absurdly portrayed by government/media as an anti-communist extremist as LHO was portrayed as a marxist extremist.
I see a recurring pattern, Tom. It involves less than fifty people, and less than a dozen are at its core.

Engineer Quits Job to Aid Dr. Dooley

Los Angeles Times - Dec 18, 1959
The plane was pur- chased for Dooley by hotel man Conrad Hilton. Euster's previous service in the Oril- cnt was as military pilot in.
After that, its basically a game played again and again by the same core players. In the 1980's Bush roommate Robert Macauley played the Tom Dooley part, and the boosters were still the same, CIA WR Grace/Knights of Malta, Hellmuth's Independence Foundation co-trustee, David B. Stone's brother, Robert G. Stone, Jr., and Allen Quasha.
Leading up to Nov., 1963, Robert G. Stone's wife's brother, Godfrey A. Rockefeller, has a recent employment history with Bell Helicopters in Dallas, and goes on to a much longer association with Bell and its acquirer. In the mid 1970's, Stone's daughter married William HG Fitzgerald's son. Thomas J. Devine is Bush's partner, Stone's partner, and had the ssame best man as Nancy Bush, Wm. B. Macomber, Jr.
Rockefeller heads the WWF, with Devine's buddy, Bohlen, under Rockefeller.
Bush is acquainted with De Mohrenschildt through Ed Hooker, and probably through George Kichel. Devine met with De Mohrenschildt in May, 1963 and reported to the CIA about the meeting via a "secure line".
Fitzgerald's best man, Byfield is linked both to Henry Crown and to Jack Ruby. Fitzgerald's usher, Hammonds, becomes Jack Crichton's accountant and co-director.
Crichton just happens to almost instantly produce an interpreter for LHO's wife.
Joseph N. Welch's wife grew up in tiny Washington, GA, and if Welch and his partner, Hellmuth were working for Army intelligence, at some point in the 1950's, after 40 years of marriage, Welch could have imparted to Hellmuth, Army Intel, CIA, or all three, details of "Little Alek" Stephenson and his secretary, William Hidell.
Tom, I hope you would agree it would be odd enough if the only coincidences outlined in this post were that Byfield was at least acquainted with a close friend of Jack Ruby, and his mother leased Glen Ora to JFK, and Bush knew LHO's "best friend," DeMohrenschildt.
But that does not happen to be the case.
Byfield is an Army officer in the same small, top secret project, commanded by the same OSS Lt. Col. as Nancy Bush and Devine best man, Macomber.
But, it turns out that Bush's sister's best man was investigating LHO in late 1960, and Hellmuth's co-trustee, David B. Stone, had a brother in business with Tom Devine, and the best man investigating Oswald was also Devine's best man, and the Stone brother in business with Tom Devine administered a Harvard fund that turned around the business fortunes of Bush's son, George, setting him up to be a multi-millionaire, and that Tom Dooley had identical backing and similar mission as Robert Macauley did, 22 years later.

Mr. MAMANTOV. Yes; I was called by Lt. Lumpkin. I think he's Lieutenant--they call him Chief.
Mr. JENNER. And you repaired then to the Dallas City Police Station?
Mr. MAMANTOV. Excuse me, I was called by somebody else, a couple of minutes ahead of Lumpkin--is it important?
Mr. JENNER. I don't know--you might state what it is.
Mr. MAMANTOV. All right. I was called by Mr. Jack Chrichton, C-h-r-i-c-h-t-o-n (spelling)--I don't know how to spell his name right now, but I guess it is that, but I can find out in a day or two.
Mr. JENNER. And who is he?
Mr. MAMANTOV. He is a petroleum independent operator, and if I'm not mistaken, he is connected with the Army Reserve, Intelligence Service.
And, he asked me if I would translate for the police department and then immediately Mr. Lumpkin called me.

Ilya Mamantov identified Jack Crichton as a petroleum independent contractor, ?and if I'm not mistaken he is connected with the Army Reserve, Intelligence Service.?  Five minutes later, George Lumpkin called Mamantov. Thirty minutes before they called Mamantov however, he had called the FBI and offered his services because he knew Oswald and ?knew of his background here in Dallas.?

So, Mamontov calls the FBI. The FBI calls Crichton. Chrichton calls Mamontov. Five minutes later, Lumpkin calls Mamontov.
There's a thread there that runs from the FBI to the White Russian Community in Dallas, I think.

BIG DEAL; A New Place for Their Rackets

By WILLIAM NEUMAN

Published: June 12, 2005

....A Duplex for a Billionaire

THE billionaire Randolph D. Lerner, the owner of the Cleveland Browns and chairman of the credit card company MBNA, bought a duplex apartment last month at 720 Park Avenue, at the corner of 70th Street. Mr. Lerner bought the apartment from Alan G. Quasha, the chairman of Harken Energy.

Mr. Lerner, who is known as Randy, is No. 488 on the Forbes list of the world's richest people, with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion. The apartment was listed with Sotheby's International Realty for $12 million.

Mr. Lerner took over the football team and MBNA after the death of his father, Alfred Lerner, in October 2002. His father brought football back to Cleveland in 1999, three years after the old Browns team decamped to Baltimore. Mr. Lerner also owns a home in Amagansett on Long Island. He has filed papers with the city Department of Buildings to renovate the Park Avenue apartment.

Mr. Quasha was the chairman of Harken Energy in 1986, when the firm acquired a failing oil company owned by George W. Bush and took him on as a director and consultant. Mr. Bush sold a large block of his shares in Harken in 1990, realizing a substantial profit.

But the sale came just two months before the company reported poor financial data that made the stock price tumble, and the Securities and Exchange Commission opened an investigation into whether Mr. Bush had acted on inside information. Ultimately, the agency closed its investigation without taking any action, although the fact that his father, George H.W. Bush, was president at the time raised questions about how the case was handled.

George W. Bush's role at Harken came under scrutiny again after he became president, because of some questionable accounting maneuvers the company had carried out in the 1989 sale of a chain of Hawaiian gas stations to a group of investors, including Mr. Quasha, which had the effect of inflating the company's revenues. In that case, the S.E.C. ordered Harken to restate its earnings and book a much larger loss for the year. ...

Quote
Summing this mess up, I'll end where I began....it was Robert G. Stone, Jr., Harvard fund investment committee official, a man who claimed not to be well acquainted with the Bushes, who malinvested a chunk of Harvard money into Alan Quasha's Harken Energy. Stone, Jr. founded Stonetex in 1950 and Thomas J. Devine was a director, and Stone, Jr. was married to Marion Rockefeller and his daughter was married to William HG Fitzgerald's son, Desmond.

John L. Loeb, associated with both Louis D'Almeida and the Bronfman family, merges Loeb, Rhoades with Hornblower, Weeks.

Loeb, Rhoades senior partner, W. Palmer Dixon, a son and a brother of Loeb senior partners, is a director of the CV Starr insurance holding on the eve of Maurice Greenberg's ascension as Chairman of the new AIG entity, and in 1955, CIA agent Albert B. Carter, Jr. invites Thomas J. Devine to be an usher in his wedding, and Palmer Dixon's son is Carter, Jr.'s best man.

William B. Macomber, Jr., OSS France and Burma, and later in CIA, is best man in the weddings of Nancy Bush and later, Thomas J. Devine. Macomber asks Otto Otepke to alert the FBI to defector Oswald in 1960. Macomber, Jr's brother, John, is an investor in the Bush oil company "bought" by Quasha of Harken, and John Macomber appoints Thomas J. Devine as a V.P. at Celanese Corp. John Macomber is a long serving executive in the Atlantic Council with William HG Fitzgerald, the father of Robert G. Stone, Jr.'s son-in-law, the close friend of Ernest Byfield, Jr., and Fitzgerald was the senior member of Knights of Malta in the U.S.

www.americares.org ? Newsroom ? Press ? 2010

Dec 27, 2010 ? AmeriCares announces loss of founder Robert C. (Bob) Macauley. ... Award, the Cross of Grand Officer of the Order of Malta, the Caring Ward,

Bush's close friend, Edward G. Hooker, was DeMohrenschildt's step-nephew and business partner who introduced DeMohrenschildt to Wynn Sharples. Thomas J. Devine met with DeMohrenschildt in a clandestine, CIA assignment in spring, 1963. John Macomber was the mentor of Hooker's daughter's second husband, Michael Ainslie. Ainslie's first wife's sister-in-law, Dame Marjorie M. Scardino, is Chairwoman of Pearson, PLC in London, and an Atlantic Council member. Ainslie's wife was married to Ames Braga. Ames's father, B. Rionda Braga, was first cousin and business partner of Placido Ervesun, married to Ernest Byfield's sister-in-law, Nina Osterman. Byfield may have met Jack Ruby, and Irv Kupcinet, practically a resident of Byfield's Pump Room restaurant, co-wroter a newspaper column with Ruby's lifelong friend, Jimmy Colitz. Byfield and his father employed Patrick Hoy for 15 years until Henry Crown hired Hoy. Sidney Korshak and Gus Alex advised Hoy about what needed to be done, and Hoy did it. Henry Crown's lawyer, Albert Jenner investigated the background of Lee Harvey Oswald and conducted the official questioning of many WC witnesses. including DeMohrenschildt.

In 1953, Jenner represented Frank Darling during congressional committee questioning of Darling, president of Chicago union local 1031 electrical workers, and first Dorfman insurance agency customer.

There is "Bouhe, stink" on this investigation in that George Bouhe was sponsored for citizenship by Daniloff
of the same United Nations department WC translator Coulter had recently worked for three years.

The head of that U.N. translation department, Klebnikov, seemed to have a long association with
John Train, partner in NYC with Thomas Devine. A citizenship sponsor of Bouhe's mother was Tilbury O. "Buck" Freeman,
spouse of Bouhe's sister, Irina, and a Princeton alumni in the same Princeton timeframe and circle
as CIA chief of domestic contacts, Squirrel Ashcraft.

Bouhe died in 1981 in Plainfield, NJ, longtime location of Mr. & Mrs. Freeman.

Stewart Dyckman was the third citizenship sponsor of Bouhe, in 1939. Bouhe, Daniloff, and Dyckman
were all employed at that time at the same bank (National City). Dyckman and Bouhe took up Dallas residence in that
same year. Dyckman and George Ray were officers in the then tiny Dallas Harvard club in the 1940's.
George Ray was in the same Harvard Law class, 1935, as William HG Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's wedding
usher Oliver W Hammond became partners with George Ray and then at Arab Shield with Jack Crichton.

William Macomber was best man in the wedding of Bush sister Nancy, and later, of Thomas Devine.
Macomber's brother, John, and William HG Fitzgerald were two of the most prominent in the Atlantic
Council. At McKenzie & Co., John Macomber sponsored Michael Ainslie who married DeMohrenschildt
step-nephew and business partner Ed Hooker's daughter, Susan Hooker Braga. Bush escorted Susan
down the aisle in her first marriage to the son of Rionda Braga, Ames. Ainslie's first wife is sister-in-law
of,:First cousin of Rionda Braga was Placido Ervesun. John Macomber became president of Celenes Corp.
in 1973. Celenese was a decades long client of the advertising firm Byfield was a V.P. of. Also in
1973, Macomber appointed Thomas Devine as comptroller at Celenese Corp.

Robert Singleton Peabody (1837-1904) attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts where he was valedictorian of his class (1857). He married Margaret Augusta Goddard with whom he had a son, Charles Peabody. Singleton Peabody was the nephew of the well-known philanthropist George Peabody (1795-1869) and was co-executor of his uncle's will. Over his lifetime Peabody amassed a collection of some 40,000 Native American archaeological artifacts, which he donated to Phillips Academy and which formed the nucleus of the Robert S. Peabody Museum of Archaeology (founded 1901).

The timing of this alleged assassination plot is curious and I was hoping someone would have some more details regarding this?
From Edward Epstein's diary entry:
http://edwardjayepstein.com/diary/devosjoli.htm
"I had been invited to the Consortium for the Study of Intelligence, a foundation-financed project of the so-called Nation strategy Information Center. It was a series of conferences on international deception at which top officials of the CIA, FBI, Defense Intelligence Agency and Israeli Intelligence service discussed the concept of counterintelligence. Since I was writing a book on the subject, I found it useful to attend. The April Conference was held at 1800 K Street. Among the guests was a short, bald-headed man, Philippe de Vosjoli. "I am probably the only French intelligence officer in history to defect to the United States," he said.
Over a leisurely dinner, he explained that he had been posted to Washington in 1960 as the liaison officer between the French intelligence service, SDECE, and the CIA. He was the first French liaison officer. In this capacity, he worked closely with Angleton. Beginning in 1962, Angleton warned him that a CIA source, Anatoli Golitsyn, who had defected from the Russian Embassy in Finland, had revealed that the KGB had managed to infiltrate SDECE, his own intelligence service, at the highest levels. At first, he had assumed Golitsyn was a "lunatic". Then, Angleton gave him a "shopping list" of questions about US missile programs. It was, according to Golitsyn, to be filled by SDECE officers moonlighting for the KGB. Again, it sounded "insane" to him that French officers would be spies for the KGB and acquire US secrets on demand. His view changed radically when SDECE headquarters told him to organize a spying operation in Washington. Its targets were precisely the ones that Golitsyn had identified. He alerted the head of his service that a KGB spy ring was operating from within its ranks. In November 1963, he learned from an associate in France that he had been ordered assassinated by his own intelligence service. When he received a telegram the next week ordering him back to Paris, he assumed it was his death notice.
Rather than returning to Paris, he resigned from the French Secret Service in November 1963. Angleton helped arranged his defection. After years of hiding his identity, he sold a book idea to Leon Uris for Topaz, and moved to Lighthouse Point, Florida.
He told me over a leisurely dinner that he still had extensive files on the "take" from Golitsyn which I could see if I came to Florida. It was an offer I quickly accepted."

I just happened to run across this April, 1968 Life Magazine article from Philippe Thyraud de Vosjoli. Fascinating stuff. "Martel" is, of course, Anatoli Golitsyn.
After JFK's assassination. Vosjoli would flee to the Acapulco estate of Frank Brandstetter - another one of those blankety-blank colonels.

For Steve Thomas.....

You have been commenting about Col. Sam Kail and his ties to Dallas.
In 1969, Kail bought the home of John H Boyle, V.P. of international division of Collins Radio who had transferred
earlier from Cedar Rapids.... LINK

Ms. Mellen, according to her book, interviewed Dryer, Jr. extensively and attribute him frequently in her book. Here is his obit from 2015, one of the most unusual I?ve ever read.:
http://www.palmbeachdailynews.com/news/news/local-obituaries/joseph-dryer-iwo-jima-marine-businessman-and-adven/nkkyb/

Remarkably, Dryer, Jr. came to be testifying in 1977 about DeMohrenschildt because of a tip the HSCA received from James Kelsey Cogswell, III. Among the unusual things about Cogswell was that he was asked
by the HSCA if a photo of D.A. Phillips was the man he knew as ?Bishop,? Cogswell?s cousin, daughter
of his father?s sister, Bianca married Harry Hull during WWII, a guy DeMohrenschildt had roomed with in
D.C. at the home of then US Navy Captain Paul Joaquin, Cogswell lived a mile from Harold Ober?s house in
Scarsdale and Ober was F. Scott Fitzgerald?s only literary agent, and Cogswell in 1943 married Fitzgerald?s close friend, Cornelius Van Ness?s daughter, Nancy, and Ober?s son, CIA agent and Angelton asst. Richard Ober, Cogswell and Katzenbach all attended Phillips Exeter Academy at exactly the same time.

For more info, see.:
http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=19085&p=251713

Cogswell?s best man (1953 wedding to Joan Farish), George O. Walbridge II, is pictured with his boss Lem Billings in Havana in !955, with Carlos Prio?s former PR
flack. Both men worked for Francis McAdoo, brother of DeMohrenschildt?s aunt by marriage, Nona McAdoo.
Pardon me, but I?ve got a knack for detail and someone should be doing this.

You recently linked DeMohrenschildt and Clemard with Joseph Dryer. Consider that my research prompted me to
ask John Mellen, since Dryer's brother and Kenaf biz partner Peter had been a longtime classmate (in a class of
20 boys) of Tom Devine, if Joseph Dryer had mentioned Devine to Joan Mellen.

Ms. Mellen replied that only after her book went to be printed did Dryer share with her that Tom Devine had been
his closest friend in Rochester. Consider that William B Macomer Jr. of Rochester was best man in Devine's 1973
wedding, as well as in the 1946 wedding of Nancy Bush and Alexander Ellis, Macomber's 1942 Yale football teammate.

Mellen wrote in her book, "Our Man in Haiti" that Dryer and Devine met seperately on April 25, 1963 with DeMohrenschildt and Charles. Joseph Dryer claimed he was informed that the secretary accompanying Charles on the trip from Haiti to the U.S. reported to CIA. LINK

The dual meetings in NYC on the same day was just 15 days after the alleged shooting attempt against Gen. Edwin Walker.

You also have recently posted about QJWIN. LINK In the current Mauser topic thread on this forum, I posted (with supporting docs) in response to an opinion of another poster that Chauncey Holt was the real deal. I shared that a suspected QJWIN identity, Mosez aka Benny Maschkivitzan, of Frankfurt in 1960, was the son, brother, and uncle of two parents, their daughter, and her son, who lived in 1964 in Sherman Oaks, CA, exactly one mile from where Holt described in his book his apartment was located in late 1963.
Ironically, a commenter on jfkfacts.org and on zerohedge (sgt_doom) posted several times that Maschkivitzan was one
of the Three Tramps (the tramp with the turned up collar....)
