Sure, but no infield Starbucks please.
Things are constantly changing in the plaza. A few weeks ago as I drove to the TSBD early in the morning there was a traffic crew dismantling and replacing the complete traffic signal in front of the doorway. Broken auto lens glass/plastic littered the sidewalk. One limb of the oak tree was removed. An authentic twig with acorn is available to the highest bidder :-).
Greer wide turn reenactment?

Did the broken auto lens glass resemble a white Rambler station wagon by any chance?   ;)

Can't be sure, remaining pieces were pretty small.

Wow, that’s a pretty good sized branch from the tree! It must have been in the way of the men making the repairs to the signal.

Back to the plaza renovations, we are lucky that we still have what we have. Plus all the information that has been gathered over the years.

I suggest a bronze of a sniper behind the paling fence -- with simulated shooting & smoke.
A bronze of Zapruder & Sitzman on the pedestal.
Bronzes of every known filmer -- on pedestals etc -- & bronzes of the better known photographers.
A bronze of Brennan sitting on the wall.
A bronze of Hoffman sitting on the concrete barrier at the freeway.
A bronze of Tague.
Bronzes of say 100 pigeons on the rooftop.

Babushka lady with a bronze kerchief.  ;)

I'm against these modifications. The plaza should be kept as close to 1963 as possible. It will be impossible to shoot recreations for TV or films if too many changes are made.

This is from a recent post on Reddit:

The TSBD still stands, despite the City's efforts at one time to demo it. You can still hoist yourself up and stand on the exact spot Zapruder stood. You can walk down to the Elm Street and stand on the X and look back at the TSBD of look ahead to the triple underpass. All still there. You can walk up the Grassy Knoll and go behind the picket fence. The fence itself has been replaced and the dirt parking area is now paved over and used by the Museum for parking. Walk down the steps to the "infield" and stand where the Babuska Lady stood and where all the people we see in the Zapruder movie stood. The Dal-Tex Building still stands and looks the same from the outside. The old county jail and courthouse, where Oswald was being taken that Sunday, and the place where Ruby's trial was held still stands. Walk up Main to the Old City hall and police station. Until about 5 years ago you could still walk down the ramp just as Jack Ruby did. You could even enter the police station through that route. Ruth Paine's house stlll unchanged and cannot be missed. Likewise, the Beckley Street boarding house is a must visit. The Neeley Street house where the backyard photos were taken remains pretty much unchanged. The intersection of 10th and Patton now has a sign memorializeing its place in history. Walk down the street and stand where JD Tippit took his last breath. Walk over to Jefferson, stop and look in the shoe store window just as Oswald did, then continue on down to the Texas Theater. You can even drive to Tippit's old house, where he went home for lunch that Friday. Drive down Main and take a right on Houston then a sharp left on Elm. Go under the Triple Underpass then a quick right on Stemmons, now I-35. Drive past the Dallas Trade Mart on the right. Market Hall is essentially unchaged and the "Welcome" sign that was to greet JFK and Jackie is still there. Keep on Stemmons then exit for Parkland. Up until just a few years ago you could park and walk on the driveway to reach the very spot where the limo was parked, under the sign "Ambulances Only."

I say just rename it Kennedy Plaza and call it all finished.

Nope. Do a 360 in the link above and you will see that all the entries have been sealed off.

Sadly, the city of Dallas have allowed the tree foliage in the plaza to get completely out of hand, rather than prune the trees like they should be doing when they reach that length.   This should have been done years ago, but they continue to neglect taking care of the plaza's tree problems.

I agree totally about the state of the over-grown trees, including the pyracantha tree blocking much of Zapruder’s view now. Major goals for most of my trips to Dealey Plaza involve shadow analysis (as an aid to 3D modeling). A few of the views not available to us now include Robert Hughes’ view of the upper SW corner of the TSBD as he walked east along the sidewalk after filming from the east shelter, shadow along the low wall next to the north peristyle as a “clock” after 12:30, and views from the Sixth Floor Earthcam of the reflecting pool. Of note, “Zapruder’s cedar elm tree behind the Stemmons sign” a few years ago was never replaced.
