Marina Oswalds business manager James H. Martin told the HSCA that Marina had told interesting details about her life in Russia, including her having met the Afghan ambassador in her hotel room. This is discussed in the book "Destiny Betrayed" below:

This interesting information is left out of the book "Marina and Lee". When her having met the Afghan ambassador is combined to her having met Robert Webster, it would appear Marina might have been some kind of entertainment girl for the KGB to draw information out of foreigners - in other words a KGB asset. Though one would think if that was the case, that she would not have volunteered the information to James H. Martin.
Is James H. Martin telling the truth? If so, it would mean Marina had significant connections to the KGB - something which would have embarrassed the KGB after the JFK assassination.
