There's never been a conspiracy that John Armstrong didn't like, said John MacAdams.

So why didn't Robert Oswald and John Pic recognize that they had two mothers? And Marguerite's sister - Lillian - didn't notice her "new" sibling? Not to mention friends/associates over the years? They didn't think there was something odd. We all change physically over the years; but this much?

Were there two Robert Oswalds too? And two John Pics? At some point one would think these absurdities would hit bottom. No more of them to claim. But it never does. They just dig another level further down. Dante had nine circles. For him that was enough.

Many of these conspiracists really do believe that "they" can do anything. Literally anything. And keep it all quiet. For more than half a century. But even though "they" can do anything, the only course they could take to stop JFK from doing whatever they wanted to stop him from doing- Vietnam, Cuba, MIC, reveal the aliens among us, whatever - was to shoot him in broad daylight in the middle of the street with hundreds of people looking on. I would think that this supposed "they" had better options.

Check with the Steve Galbraith double, but I'm thinking everyone was in on this except Old Lee. It was like Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A great movie. That is the original 1956 black and white version. None of the remakes are nearly as good.

What made it superior?

•   Character development. The first third of the movie has no real action. It just introduces us to the principal characters where we get to know develop a fondness for them, which helps us root for them later on. Very important.
•   Set in a small town where everyone knows each other, so the characters can always try to evaluate and wonder if someone has really changed or not.

The remakes all go in different direction.

An interesting character is ‘The Skeptic’. A character who makes reasonable and rational arguments explaining away the otherwise inexplicable events. Of course, it turns out that ‘The Skeptic’ is part of a Large-Secret-Enduring conspiracy for aliens to take over the world.

The interference of the studio, insisting on tacking on a ‘Happy Ending’, actually made for a much superior movie. Because the central tragedy of the movie was not the impending doom of mankind.

Talking of The Invasion of  the Body Snatchers ... the undertaker for Oswald, Paul Groody, was 100% certain someone had switched the skull of the man he buried in Oswald's grave. How do we explain it? the man who embalmed Oswald and prepared the corpse for burial says that was not the skull he buried
