Title: Philippe de Vosjoli -- Assassination Operative, or Victim of French KGB Moles?
Post by: Thomas Graves on February 04, 2020, 11:52:23 PM
Some tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy theorists try to implicate French intelligence officer Philippe de Vosjoli in the assassination of JFK, pointing out that he "ran away to Mexico from the U.S. on the day of the assassination," and did so with the help of (my hero) evil, evil, evil James Angleton and that evil, evil, evil Frank Brandstetter who was associated with an Army intelligence group in Texas.

In reality, de Vosjoli became aware, through true-defector Anatoliy Golitsyn, that French intelligence was severely penetrated by the KGB, and, since he was refusing to spy on America for the French KGB moles, he feared for his own life, especially after he was warned by a French intelligence colleague that he would be assassinated if he returned to France.

Golitsyn's revelations regarding French intelligence, and France's reactions upon being secretly warned by JFK, himself, became known as the "Martel Affair".

In this article from 1968, de Vosjoli describes it in his own words.

("Martel" was the French intelligence code name for Golitsyn.)
