Title: 63rd anniversary of the JFKA is approaching
Post by: John Corbett on October 14, 2026, 06:19:51 PM
To put this in perspective, JFK has been dead for 16+ more years than he was alive.

It has now been longer between the JFKA and the present than it was between the McKinley assassination and the JFKA. I don't recall any sort of continued consternation about the McKinley assassination as there has been about the JFKA. For some reason, some people just can't seem to put the JFKA in their rearview mirror. They want to keep it front and center. Of course, as a JFKA buff myself, I am one of those people still fascinated by the story even though I am convinced the WC got it right when they released their report 62 years ago. I have said on numerous occasions that I do this for amusement only, even though I have gone through long stretches in my life where I quit this hobby cold turkey. Something keeps bringing me back.

I am still puzzled by what keeps the CTs going. Do they think that some game changing piece of evidence is going to suddenly appear that will confirm their long-held positions? Do they think if they keep plugging away there is going to be an "AHA" moment when they finally put the pieces together? I freely admit to being a cynic, but it seems to me if the CT folks haven't figured out the JFKA by now with what is already known, why would they expect they ever will?

I know it's like, still October 14, but, i'm gonna upload my collection of home movies of 11/22 here on the site. I need to gather xxxx to see if anything is missing or are there better sources.

I'm very new to collecting JFK stuff, lemme tell ya, i only have the MPI zapruder dvd and only that, i really wanted to buy more stuff, but my folks would wanna check what i'm buying, and if i'm buying on ebay or other american sites, it would be a bit annoying to ship to Brazil, not very ideal conditions to be researching the JFKA in, but i'll see what i can do.

At that time we were traveling very slowly, no more than 12 miles an hour. In accordance with my custom, I was very much concerned about our timing and at just about that point I looked at my watch and noted that it was almost exactly 12:30 p.m., Which was the time we were due at the Trade Mart. I commented to Ken O'Donnell that it was 12:30 and we would only be about five minutes late when we arrived at the Trade Mart. Shortly thereafter the first shot went off and it sounded to me as if it were a firecracker. I noticed then that the President moved quite far to his left after the shot from the extreme right hand side where he had been sitting. There was a second shot and Governor Connally disappeared from sight and then there was a third shot which took off the top of the President's head and had the sickening sound of a grapefruit splattering against the side of a wall. The total time between the first and third shots was about 5 or 6 seconds. My first impression was that the shots came from the right and overhead, but I also had a fleeting impression that the noise appeared to come from the front in the area of the triple overpass. This may have resulted from my feeling, when I looked forward toward the overpass, that we might have ridden into an ambush.

Never did touch the (Dis)education Forum but dang, it's gotten to that point? Guess that "forum" is rough.

After the passages of so much time, you have to wonder if there is anything left to be learned.  Maybe AI can be used on some of the films and photos to put it to rest one day, but I think we reached the point of diminishing returns on the evidence decades ago.  My conclusion from that evidence is that Oswald did it.  There is certainly no credible evidence of the involvement of anyone else.  No feasible narrative that explains away the evidence against Oswald or even a narrative that makes sense in which Oswald is not the assassin.  Does Cuba, Russia or the US government have anything from Oswald's trip to Mexico City that could shed further light on his motive?  A tape recording or transcript.  I doubt it but that is the last frontier unless AI can open new avenues.  When all is said and done, I'm 99.99 percent sure that Oswald was the assassin.  And 99.98 percent sure no one else was involved.

AI should definetely not be used for upscaling photos or films, home movies can be scanned in 4K, photos too, the AI, if used in a low-quality film, can generate details that were never there.

AI can be used for more than just "upscaling" films.  It's not possible to know everything that AI may eventually be able to tell us from the existing evidence.  Certainly better grounds for future optimism than CTer buffs staring at pictures and seeing whatever suits their desired narrative.  That is where things have stood for the last several decades and will stay forever absent some technological advancement.

Powers was wrong about the sequence and the time span.

That's pretty much my take although I would put a few more nines to the right of the decimal point on the first number and add about .01 to the second.

AI might be able to produce Zapruder frames with better resolution and contrast but then it would become manipulated evidence so there is that tradeoff. A while back somebody on this forum produced such a frame. The color, contrast, and resolution were so good it was scary. It was as if somebody had produced a high-resolution photo from a digital camera. I would bet it is only matter of time before somebody produces a high-resolution version of the Z-film using AI to produce it. It would have to be somebody who is far more tech savvy than me.

I am tech savvy but i'm absolutely not going to, it will generate fake details, we're better off with a scan of the MPI transparencies or something.

How can everyone be wrong? They were there we weren't.

More to the point, how can everyone be right? There are many versions of the shooting according to the eyewitnesses, but the shooting only happened one way. That means everyone who had a different version than the one that actually happened has to be wrong. It is an absolute certainty that many of the witnesses were wrong. Powers happens to be one of those witnesses.
