Title: Oleg Nechiporenko and the 2025 Russian files
Post by: Charles Heron on October 14, 2026, 12:40:03 PM
In the Russian files released in 2025, there's an image of Oswald's 1962 residence permit (page 306 of the PDF), which has a stamp on it which appears to show that he married Marina in 1960, not 1961.

And perhaps coincidentally, in the Russian version of Oleg Nechiporenko's book Passport To Assassination, he quotes from a 1964 report allegedly written by the heads of the First and Second Chief Directorates, containing a list of the documents to be transferred to the Americans relating to the Oswalds. That 1962 residence permit, along with its predecessor, are included on the list. But in the earlier, English version of Nechiporenko's book, which is very different, those two residence permits are missing from that list. They're also missing from the list allegedly included in the Central Committee decree of 23 April 1964, No. 71 in the Russian files.

As far as I know, the 1962 residence permit was released for the first time in 2025.

There is manifest proof Oswald married Marina in 1961. Are you suggesting otherwise?

No, I assume the date on the residence permit is a mistake, although I'm not an expert on the assassination.

I mentioned it because I couldn't find anyone else here who had, and also because of the fact that, in the 2008 Russian version of his book, Nechiporenko writes that that residence permit was one of 11 documents "concerning Oswald's residence and employment" which were due to be handed over to the Americans in 1964, but in the 1993 English version, he only lists nine of those documents, minus the two residence permits, one of which contains the 1960 marriage date.

Pretty sure this is just a simple mistake, like nearly every anomaly that conspiracy theorists like to twist into something larger.
