Years ago, the Sixth Floor Museum installed a webcam next to the sniper's nest on the 6th floor of the TSBD. I hadn't looked at it in years but my memory is that it would rotate from looking down Elm Street to looking down Houston Street. I just looked at it and it seems to be fixed at the Houston Street view with Elm Street in the periphery. Am I correct that it used to rotate views or do I just have a false memory of that. It seems to me that if they were going to fix the camera on one view, the Elm Street view would make more sense since that is where Oswald would have been facing when he fired the final two shots.

Your are correct John. The museum added the webcam in the later months of 1999. There were five sequential views, each lasting 1 minute.

There's a live Dealey Plaza cam that, with the cooperation of the Museum, is located on top of the building. Appears to be on the roof. It doesn't move.
I'm going to completely guess that the camera in the sniper's nest was seen as in poor taste; so they moved it/put one on the roof.

Personally, I can't stand to look at the plaza. The city should be holding their heads in deep shame for allowing the condition of it to have become an eyesore with overgrown trees in desperate need of pruning, the eastern half of the concrete steps that lead to the colonnade has suffered severe erosion and damage from people who've trodden the area to death and there's an enormous gap between the bottom step and the ground directly in front of the "Zapruder Pedestal" spreading east. It's muddy and very ugly.
Then there's the area which is nothing BUT mud surrounding the long plaque with a quote from the speech President Kennedy was going to give at the Trade Mart that day, situated in the area between the colonnade and the plaque.
Perhaps it's the city's way of giving the people who voted down the Dealey Plaza renovation project the finger for not letting them completely destroy a piece of history by destroying an historical landmark.
If you won't let us revise, then we won't maintain the plaza anymore.

I visited Dealey Plaza for the only time in my life in 2008 which rekindled my interest in the JFKA and led me to the McAdams website as well as the unmoderated alt.conspiracy.jfk, AKA the nuthouse. I didn't notice any neglect to the area except for a few missing pickets from the GK fence, apparently snatched by people who believed they were grabbing a piece of history, not knowing that those pickets have been replaced numerous times over the years. There were a few hucksters around, one of who I recognized, that being Robert Groden. He was sitting at a table with someone who appeared to be a partner and who did most of the talking. It looked like they were selling Groden's self-published books. I saw them fold up the table at the end of the day and split the take.

If they want to renovate let them take care of what they have and restore the road signs removed after the assassination. When Government sticks their nose in everything turns to crap.

dang, it’s too bad Ozzie didn’t have a pair of those meta specs with the camera and all, wonder if someone could do a recreation of his last steps to the theatre with them on?

At the very least he could have donned a bodycam to record his historical act for posterity.
