Title: The Charlie Kirk conspiracy theories have officially begun
Post by: John Corbett on July 07, 2026, 09:06:53 PM
I was driving home early this afternoon listening to the Clay and Buck Show on the radio and they were talking about the evidence being presented at preliminary hearing for Charlie Kirk's accused killer. Somebody called in proclaiming that Tyler Robinson was being set up as a patsy in the murder. He questioned the evidence being presented and claimed it was being falsified, blah, blah, blah. Clay Travis tried to reason with this clown but it wasn't working. First he asked the caller whether he had better credentials to analyze the ballistics than the agents at the FBI and BATFE and the guy immediately tried to deflect. He asked the guy why he thought all the law enforcement agencies would conspire to frame Tyler Robinson. More deflections. The caller claimed there was no way Robinson could have disassembled the rifle quick enough to escape the way he did. Where have we heard that before.

If they just changed the names I would have thought they were talking about the JFKA. In fact when I first turned on the radio and they were talking about the gunshot to the neck, I thought they were talking about the JFKA. It was only after they named the victim and the alleged assailant that I realized what they were talking about. One thing I will gladly wager is that no matter how much evidence is presented that Tyler Robinson committed the crime, there will be those who will refuse to accept that. Leftists will blame those on the right and those on the right will blame leftists and none of them will have any evidence to support their suspicions. Just like the JFKA CTs.

When COVID-19 emerged, I suspected its origin was a lab leak in Wuhan, China. I had a lot of reason, but that's another story.

At one point the Columbia Journalism Review, the industry flag-carrier, called the lab leak narrative a "debunked conspiracy theory." The CT'ers were small and ridiculed band.

Later, the lab leak theory became somewhat accepted as the more-likely explanation of the COVID-19 virus.

Lesson: Some CT's hold water, and some do not.

I suspect Charlie Kirk was murdered by a mentally ill lone nut.

No one disputes that conspiracies do happen. The LN position has always been there is no credible evidence that JFK died as the result of a conspiracy and that all the credible evidence points to Oswald as the lone assassin. So far, the same applies to Tyler Robinson, but that hasn't stopped some from already speculating that he is being framed by the real perpetrators of the murder of Charlie Kirk.

I have no reason to doubt that Tyler Robinson murdered Charlie Kirk. At his trial, he is entitled to a presumption of innocence but since I'm not going to be on his jury, I am not obligated to presume he is innocent any more than I was obligated to give OJ or Oswald a presumption of innocence. Both of them were double murderers and there is zero doubt in my mind about either.

Bullseye. Fauci and crew mocked the argument that COVID-19 came from a lab in Wuhan, and their cheerleaders in most of the legacy news outlets heaped scorn on those who made the argument. Now, as you point out, we know better and have pretty good evidence that the virus did come from the Wuhan lab. A U.S. House select subcommittee concluded that substantial evidence and classified documents indicate the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab.

Exactly: Some conspiracy theories are true; some are plausible but false; and some are just plain nutty. Hundreds of people each year are convicted of conspiracy, and a few of the conspiracies have been somewhat large and elaborate.

It is reaching pretty low and pretty badly to cite some anonymous caller on a radio talk show and to use that as a strawman basis for attacking all conspiracy theories.

And, yes, I think Charlie Kirk was murdered by Tyler Robinson acting alone.

The strawman argument is coming from you. I did not attack all conspiracy theories. I specifically stated, "No one disputes that conspiracies do happen.". Why would you interpret that statement as an attack on all conspiracy theories? My point in starting this thread was to show some people are predisposed to assume conspiracies even when there is no credible evidence of such.

MTG--

Yes, the COVID-19 tale confirms that government, even two governments (Beijing and Washington), and multiple agencies and actors can and did participate in a cover-up, and induced the mass and social media to not only participate in the cover-up, but to ridicule and even ban those who had alternative narratives.

Remember, some social media platforms banned commentary that a lab leak was responsible for the COVID-9 pandemic.

AI: Facebook and Instagram: In early 2020, Facebook explicitly classified "COVID-19 is man-made or manufactured" as a false claim to be removed. On May 26, 2021, Facebook ended this ban after consulting with public health experts.

Twitter (now X): Twitter also implemented COVID-19 misinformation policies early on, which initially restricted certain origin theories. Twitter later quietly lifted its COVID-19 misinformation enforcement in late 2022.

Other Platforms: Similar moderation strategies were used across networks like YouTube and TikTok, relying heavily on the World Health Organization consensus at the time.

---30---

The above is an ugly record of what can happen to the truth.

Although I believe the initial JFKAC was very limited, I believe there was a subsequent government cover-up, following President LBJ's diktat that LHO be found an LN.

Not all CTs are alike. Some hold water.

Not all government narratives are truthful. Some are not.

Just found out on my newsreader that the latest CT that's gathering steam is that Mitch McConnell is already dead. While I would not be surprised to find out he's in the express checkout lane, I find it a little far fetched to think he had assumed room temperature and somebody would want to keep that a secret. For what purpose? Maybe he's comatose. Maybe he's brain dead and they haven't pulled the plug. But if he was truly dead, i.e. all bodily functions have ceased, I think they would have made that public.

JFK had died before his official time of death of 1:00 CST but the announcement was withheld for another half hour for security purposes because they wanted to get LBJ to AF1 and have him sworn in. That's understandable. Biden passed away sometime during his term of office but as long as they had the autopen functioning, there was nor reason to make that announcement. Besides, if they admitted that, Kamala would have become POTUS and nobody wanted that. Somebody made the reasonable choice that it was better to have a corpse propped up at the Resolute desk than a lush.

I don't think Charlie Kirk's death was the result of a conspiracy. This Robinson fella confessed (twice even I think) he was captured on CCTV and recognized by his parents etc. I am not familiar with the ballistics and autopsy results, but quite certain that these will reinforce the case against him. Same goes for the trace evidence (fingerprints, DNA, fibers etc).

Regarding his motive, he moved in circles of the mentally ill and was in an intimate relationship with a completely deranged individual. This may have warped his mind - if it wasn't so already - and pushed him towards an attack on a Christian conservative like Kirk. It was a high-profile target and presumably would raise his standing in the weird but dangerous woke community he was part of.

Matt Walsh and Megyn Kelly have revealed evidence that strongly indicates other people were aware of his plan. Their failure to notify authorities is appalling and perhaps even punishable by law. It does NOT however mean they conspired with Robinson.

What's your general definition of "woke"?

I could answer that but will it not derail the entire thread? For now let us establish that is a movement and mindset diametrically opposed to everything Charlie Kirk stood for. Therefore he had to be killed, since discussion or debate is alien to these activists and all they can do is lash out.

Woke is like pornography. It's hard to define but you know it when you see it.

What, in your opinion, did Charlie Kirk "stand for"?

Christian conservatism and patriotism. He was a bright and passionate young lad, injecting the youth with a healthy dose of common sense and high moral standards through his TPUSA organization. His early death was most unfortunate.

The above article tells us how the prosecution has already debunked many Charlie Kirk assassination theories but those of us who have dealt with JFKA conspiracy theories for decades know that debunking the conspiracy theories is not enough to kill them. The CTs will continue to keep them alive n matter how much evidence there is to the contrary.

I wonder if a study has ever been done on the likelihood of the development of conspiracy theories after any given occurrence and the factors involved that would impact such a process.

For instance when the Watergate burglars were caught it was not a big deal, until one of them told the judge he worked for the CIA. Was this the beginning of a conspiracy theory that proved valid over time?

Is the impact of the event related to the development of suspicion that the official findings of the related investigation and conclusion are wrong or even a cover up? This happened after the JFK, RFK and MLK assassinations, but also after the 9/11 attacks. Presumably there will be overlapping aspects in the JFK murder and the attack on Kirk that led to surfacing of conspiracy theories in the latter case.

There was never any doubt Watergate was a conspiracy. Whenever two or more people work in concert to commit a crime, it is a conspiracy. The only question, which took a couple years to answer, was high up the conspiracy reached. As it turned out, the conspiracy to cover up the crime reached all the way to the Oval Office. I don't think Nixon had any foreknowledge of the break-in. He thought it was a dumb idea. He didn't know why anyone would break into the DNC HQ. His reaction when told about it was, "Nothing but crap there".  He knew all the good stuff would be at the candidates' campaign HQ.

I have no reason to believe either of the Kennedy assassinations were a conspiracy. I'm a bit more open minded about MLK because I haven't studied that in any depth. I'm on the fence on that one.

I know a lot of MAGA people have been highly critical of Mitch McConnell but we as a nation owe him a debt of gratitude for blocking the appointment of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. That paved the way for Trump being able to nominate Neil Gorsuch to replace Antonin Scalia, keeping a conservative majority on SCOTUS.
