I noticed that too this morning. It was the Invision hosting that was in James Gordon's name, and they were completely unable to contact him. It could be that they are transitioning and it will appear back up with the old content restored - or maybe not. To be fair, although the Ed Forum has gone off a cliff dating back at least to the appointment of Sandy Larsen as a moderator, the older content would be invaluable and worth saving unless one just doesn't think the JFKA is worth discussing at all. After the appointment of Sandy, that became the worst-moderated forum I've ever seen (not just due to Sandy by any means).
I had never heard of Invision, but I just looked at their site. I spend more on golfballs than it costs to host an Invision forum (Titleist ProV1x are upwards of $50/dozen). I never understood why all these supposed JFKA heavyweights went through an agonizing exercise every year about "Oh, my God, how are we going to pay for this???" Is the market for JFKA crap so miniscule that Jimbo and Larry Hancock, et al., can't assume the burden? (My guess is, the answer is yes.)

It occurred to me as a rather poignant reminder of The Good Old Days at the Ed Forum, when James Gordon, Kathy Beckett and Mark Knight were the moderators. I kind of specialized in being an irritating, in-your-face LN agitator (I find it enjoyable on all forums to adopt a persona that is sorta-kind me but not entirely, and I think this is inevitable even if you don't consciously do it). NOT ONCE was I admonished, warned, suspended or otherwise disciplined for ANYTHING. NOT ONCE. When I asked to have my account closed, Kathy - whom I'm pretty sure wasn't an LNer - said she was sorry to see me go and I was welcome back anytime. Almost immediately thereafter, it became an absolute reign of terror under Sandy and NiederNut. I would have been banned the first day.

Lance, I happened to be reading some threads there earlier this week and that Niederhut fella is one of the nuttiest personalities I've ever seen! Could you imagine being that guy's patient and not knowing what he was really up to in the Internet in his spare time?

I agree that a lot of valuable research has been posted on the EF over the years, but I must admit that I won't shed any tears if the EF is gone. If this has happened, the moderators brought it on themselves.

Yeah, that's why I seriously thought about contacting the Medical Board. The disconnect between being a "Harvard-trained practicing psychiatrist" (as he constantly reminds us) and the utterly wild stuff he posts makes Lee Harvey Oswald look positively normal.

Looks like I am the first refugee from the EF. Though if it comes back to life I will continue to post there. It went down in the middle of my debates with Niederhut over the “jet effect”, Hofeling, Davidson and Josephs over the limo stop/Zapruder film alteration. As of a few days ago, Josephs informed me that he had me on “ignore” but then continued to harangue me via personal messaging. I actually put Hofeling on ignore just so I wouldn’t have to scroll through his lengthy posts which were often largely repeated. But I would still look at his specific responses so I could rebut them. Jim D. had me on ignore but I forget the reason.
Two things that I noticed about many EF participants is that they are far more interested in proving Oswald was innocent than objectively looking at the facts to determine what possibly could have happened and many believe that JFK (and by extension anyone in the Kennedy family) was almost a Christ-like figure who was going to unilaterally withdraw from Vietnam and usher in an era of world peace.

Yes, and I now wish like heck that I had utilized the good ol' "Wayback Machine" many more times when I was first archiving Education Forum posts and threads at my own website/blog, particularly the posts made by people other than myself since mid-2022, which is when I was allowed to re-join the EF forum after a three-year absence.
Prior to late 2019, the EF forum had no rule on the books saying that a person couldn't copy-and-paste excerpts from EF posts directly into a personal website or blog without first gaining the specific permission from the poster being copied (which is exactly what I've been doing on my site since 2010, and nobody at EF cared a whit about it until 2019; go figure). But then, in Aug. 2019, suddenly a bunch of people at EF got all up in arms about the thing I'd been doing for 9 years, and it all of a sudden became a terrible and devious act, so James R. Gordon put in the new "Must Get Permission" clause.
So when I was permitted to re-join the EF forum in June 2022 (for which, btw, I am still very grateful to the then-EF moderators), I couldn't do any "copying-and-pasting" of other EF members' posts at all (if I wanted to remain an active forum member, that is). Which left me with having to put in a link on my webpages to each post made by the other EF members [example below]. Thankfully, Mr. Gordon didn't make it illegal to merely post a link to EF material. ;)

And now (as of June 11, 2026), of course, all of those EF links are dead, broken, and worthless, which is going to bother me greatly, because I can't stand broken links on my sites! But if I had thought ahead a few years, I would have been smart enough to create "Wayback" links for all of those post-2022 discussions. Oy vey. ~sigh~
I just hope that the Education Forum's vast JFKA archive from the past can somehow be retrieved and made available once again. Because there is, indeed, a lot of good discussion and information to be gleaned from that forum's lengthy tenure on the Internet. And it would be a shame for all of it to be wiped out in a heartbeat.
And it would also be sad to have the owner of this webpage (and many others) commit hari-kari due to the fact he's got all of these dead links on his site: :(

EDIT/UPDATE #1 (3:57 AM EDT; 6/12/2026) --- The Education Forum has returned! All posts seem to have been restored after a
2-day outage. Now I don't have to commit hari-kari after all. Whew! That's a relief. :)
EDIT/UPDATE #2 (Approx. 7:30 PM EDT; 6/19/2026) --- The Education Forum has been shut off again. Can H-K be avoided once more? Only time will tell.
EDIT/UPDATE #3 (Approx. 3:00 AM EDT; 6/24/2026) --- The Ed. Forum is back online. Hari is sidestepped yet again. ;D
EDIT/UPDATE #4 (7:42 AM EDT; 6/26/2026) --- This word (https://educationforum.ipbhost.com/topic/32133-the-forum-account-is-paid-up-and-active/#findComment-596986) comes from EF Forum member Andrew Iler: "Please be advised that the Forum Account has now been paid and will remain active." .... All is now right with the world once more. The birds still sing. The sun still shines. And the conspiracy theorists at The Education Forum can still fantasize that Lee Harvey Oswald was "just a patsy" for a while longer. (At least until the next monthly payment is due.)
