Her name is Mary Lea Williams.

I found this video and posted this video on my Facebook on Sunday, and was shocked to see the full interview of this woman within it. She has a very brief spot in the documentary "Four Days in November, from 1964.
Although the film crew mentioned her name as "Mrs___", the microphone didnt capture her ful lastl name, and Bill Brown took the time to figure out the portion of her last name as it appears.
He then responded to my FB post , and posted her affidavit as published in the 26 volumes of the WR. She worked at the TSBD. My first thought was that she was the woman standing with Doris Mumford near the lamppost as seen in the Z film and Bronson photo.  According to her, though, she was standing with 4 other women who worked at the TSBD, and a 4 year old child of one of the women.  Warren Commission exhibit 1381 is her affidavit.

 Video:
Miss Williams appears at 1:06 into the video.

Her name is Mary Lea Williams.

Thanks, Steve.  Thumb1:

Mary Lea Williams (3-20-64 statement to the FBI, 22H682) “I am a female caucasian, born...on October 19, 1904...I...have been employed by Allyn and Bacon, Inc...for the last fifteen years. On November 22, 1963, I left the Depository building at approximately 12:20 PM to view the arrival of the Presidential motorcade. I was accompanied by Mrs. Sue Dickerson, Billie Clay, and Ruth Hendrix, all employees of Allyn and Bacon, Inc, and Mrs. John Hawkins and her four year-old son, John. Mrs. Hawkins is wife of John Hawkins, an agent for Allyn and Bacon, Inc...Our group took up a position along the motorcade route about halfway between the first and second light poles on the curbside slightly west of the Depository building. We were on the north side of Elm Street as it leads into the underpass. Following the shooting of President John F. Kennedy, we continued to stand in that area for another five to ten minutes and then returned to the Depository building and stood in the lobby of the building where we could hear a radio report of the condition of the President. After a few minutes in the lobby, I returned to the Allyn and bacon, Inc offices...I do not recall having ever seen Lee Harvey Oswald at any time on or prior to November 22, 1963.”

Good find!

After seeing this woman briefly in David Wolper's "Four Days In November" film, I always wondered what her name was.

Mrs. Williams' March '64 statement can also be seen in CD706 (below):

It’s been a good week. First I found the name of the mysterious Japanese reporter who is seen everywhere on the assassination weekend. The name was discovered by Dale Myers last year. Now this previously unknown Dealey Plaza witness. This appears to be AP footage. There were several AP photographers with still-photo and moving-picture cameras, but so few images have been published. There must hundreds of unpublished AP photos and films.

Correction...

This is the correct sequence: Steve Barber posted the YouTube video but had no clue of the name. Bill Brown said he heard the name Williams. Bill Brown first gave the name Mary Williams.  Then, based off of that, Denis Morissette searched for her affidavit. Denis Morrissette then googled her name (because Bill Brown gave it) and found a photo of her in the link below.

I spent a decent little amount of time on this.

I don't care either way, but at least get it right.

Hi Denis

The only  women i remember seeing with a child about 4yo
is the waving women in Towner nursing the child who was wearing a "red" cap

They can also be seen in Altgens 6 near the TSBD steps.

Why is nobody addressing the 1,000 elephant in the room? What she describes the JFK Limo doing is Not on the Current Zapruder Film. "The car momentarily Stopped and Pulled Slightly To The Side and then took off at High Speed". Her description does validate Motorcycle Officer Hargis "rolling stop" and ASAIC Kellerman claiming the JFK Limo suddenly accelerated to the point of, "jumped out of the G.D. street".  Again, none of this is on the Current Zapruder Film.

Wowie zowie!

All of the other photos and films, not to mention the X-rays taken at Parkland Hospital) must have been ALTERED, TOO, huh?

1000 elephants?

OMG!

Maybe they were just a DIVERSION for some of the bad guys as they were shooting at JFK from the bushes (but missed everything!) and then as they were driving their low-clearance, highly noticeable 1958 Pontiac Bonneville down Elm Street Extension to either unexpectedly abandon it next to the "island" or intentionally leave it there for the OTHER bad guys to get away in!!!

The Nix film shows the limo "slow down to a crawl" and then rapidly speed up, with Clint Hill holding onto the grab rail running behind it.

A rolling stop means the car DIDN'T stop!

Definition of a Rolling Stop
USLegal.com defines a rolling stop as any time you don't come to a complete stop at an interaction. This means your wheels will still be in motion. Your speedometer will likely register less than 5 mph.
https://www.idrivesafely.com/defensive-driving/trending/what-is-rolling-stop/

Mr. HARGIS - ......And at that time the Presidential car slowed down.

I don't think Zapruder critics realize that the changes they suggest were impossible;
For example, say you remove frames then how do you have the people outside moving towards the Limo not be affected by the frame removal and that goes for the Limo passengers, there is no sudden jumps and everyone has constant motion. And then you have the problem of the Limo, it doesn't stop and start on a dime but has to come to a stop and then has to gain speed to go again, so at what two points in the "original" Zapruder film do you snip the film to show the slowing Limo and how do you account for the multiple people elements and the missing yards to account for the slow down, stop and reacceleration?
This may be difficult to grasp but to have an end product that equals the "Current" Zapruder film we need to edit out a stop, so we match the Limo's approach speed of say 8mph and edit that with a departure speed of 8mph but what happens to the footage in between? The Limo has travelled some distance, the people outside didn't become statues and likewise the occupants of the Limo have continued to move.

I specifically mentioned the Zapruder Film due to numerous Eyewitness accounts not matching up to what is on the Current Zapruder Film. And if we go back to the weekend of the assassination, we also have CBS News Reporter Dan Rather viewing a Z Film Copy, and then detailing to the World numerous times, what he saw on that Zapruder Film copy. Rather detailed that the Zapruder Film that he viewed showed the JFK Limo making the wide turn onto Elm St. And, the Rather Z Film variations only mounted from that point forward vs the Current Zapruder Film  This newly discovered eyewitness, is yet another log onto the blazing fire of the Current Zapruder Film being at odds with a JFK Assassination eyewitness account.

I reckon that on Friday Nov 22 1963 she was 17 ft east of where we know jfk was when he was shot by Oswald at Z218.
But during that there later interview she got confused & claimed that she had been standing at a location which we know was near where jfk was shot in the head by Hickey at Z312.
Anyhow her verbal words & her written words were/are of allmost zero value.

You can't fix this woman's standing position based on the child wearing a Red Sock Hat. We do Not Know that is the, "4 yr old son" she was talking about. I believe the confusion about where she was standing is due to cavalierly accepting that as being the "4 yr old".

Perhaps she decided to get a closer view and decided to walk down the street, and was captured in the Charles Bronson slide, standing right where the woman on the left side of the lamppost (Facing it, that is) is seen, near Doris Mumford.

And let's grant that Zapruder filmed the Limo turning into Elm, so what? Nothing of any consequence happened till the Limo was way down Elm!
Besides, the Limo travelling down Houston and the turn into Elm was ALL captured on 8mm film.

So this woman was, "roughly 50 feet away from the TSBD".  If this "retaining wall" is actually the short wall that runs down from the Pergola Shelter that Zapruder filmed Sitzman and The Hester's in front, this would put her behind this short wall at about the same time that the dark figure on the Bothun Photograph shows us. Is it possible that maybe that dark figure is her? Does anyone have any idea as to where this "retaining wall" that she hid behind is located?

"Shadow Man" has been speculated to be James Files in the process of exiting Dealey Plaza. The Bothun Photo is around 1 minute after the kill shot. If this lady took cover behind the short wall, and then decided to leave, Shadow Man could be her. But, if All of the shots were coming from the TSBD, why would she seek cover on that side of the wall? That wall would Not provide cover from shots being fired from the TSBD sniper's nest.

Let's grant that Zapruder filmed the limo turning into Elm.

Wrong.

IIRC, the limo was already about 70 feet down Elm Street when Zapruder resumed filming at Z-133.

Quote
Nothing of any consequence happened until the limo was way down Elm Street.

Probably wrong.

The conscious and nearly synchronous reactions of seven prime witnesses (including JFK, Jackie, and JBC) to the sounds of Oswald' first, missing-everything, shot indicate that it was probably fired at "Z-124," half-a-second before Zapruder resumed filming.

Regarding the Limo turn onto Elm.

We already have a view of the turn, and it seems to go off without a problem.

At least 3- films show the Limo turning:

Towner, Dorman, Hughes.

And Towner's clip, IIRC, ends about a second before Zapruder picks up on the action, Dorman's clip is all over the place, and Hughes' clip, like Towner's clip, ends before Oswald fired his first (missing-everything) shot at "Z-124," but does catch his moving around in the Sniper's Nest window in his white t-shirt.

The "problem" didn't occur during the turn, itself, Robin.

The "problem" occurred a couple of seconds later at "Z-124" (see above).

What is Oswald shooting at in Frame: Z-124 ?

Dear Robin,

I guess you didn't notice that I'd put "scare quotes" around Z-124.

My writing "Z-124" in quotation marks signifies where the limo would have been in Zapruder if he hadn't paused filming for 17 seconds between Z-132 and Z-133.

If you think it will help you to understand, in the future I'll write "hypothetical Z-124" instead of "'Z-124'".

Do you think that would help?

OK Tom.

Thanks for the Clarification.

So you were talking "hypothetically"

Here is in effect Towner frame T138, which is missing in Robin Unger's gallery. He shows T137 T139 T141 T142.
T138 & T140 are missing. And T143 never happened -- the last frame was T142 (i think).
So, here below is in effect frame T138, a printscreen from i think the Museum's online Tina footage.
Oswald's shot-1 was at Z112, say T137.
Slug hit signal arm (& fragments hit JFK) at Z113, say T138.

We know that Z113 was at T138 koz Nellie Connally is level with the end of the white painted road stripe, in the re-enactment footage, & in Tina's footage.

Sound hit Tina at Z114, say T139.
Tina hears bang at say T141.
Tina possibly had a non-voluntary startle reaction to the bang at say T143 (except that she stopped filming at T142).
Tina possibly had a voluntary fright reaction to the bang at say T145.

The Zapruder Film is the ONLY Film capturing the JFK Limo from the (N) side of Elm St. No other film comes close to having the perspective of the Zapruder Film. It's pointless listing all these other assassination films with respect to the JFK Limo turning onto Elm St.

Dear Royell,

News flash:

Zapruder didn't film the limo as it was turning onto Elm Street.

He didn't resume filming -- after a 17-second pause -- until a few seconds after it had completed its turn.

The Zapruder camera used a "Double 8mm" film format:

The film spools would be loaded and the camera would film on one side for 25ft

Then the spools had to be swaped over and the camera would film on the other side for 25ft.

When processed the film would be split and the two 8mm strips would be spliced together.

This is such a silly argument and I don't know why it needs explaining.
Zapruder had about two minutes of film to play with and obviously the main event that he wanted to capture was JFK's Limo driving past him because at the time who knows what he may have filmed, the Limo may have stopped and JFK could have shaken hands with the crowd who knows? So when Zapruder saw the motorbikes turning into Elm he started filming but when there was no Limo, he instinctively stopped filming to conserve the limited precious film, then when he was certain that the Limo was in sight, Zapruder started filming again. The critics must think that Zapruder had unlimited film but the reality is that Zapruder was well aware of his limited resources and wanted every frame to count!!

Exactly John.

He had approx 50ft of film (2x25ft) and was trying to preserve it for when the limo arrived.

Eyewitness "Patricia Ann Donaldson" said that the Limo was in this position when she heard the first shot.

She's not far off. If she was correct, that means the first shot was fired before Zapruder resumed filming, which some have argued but I don't buy.
At frame Z133, the frame Zapruder resumed filming at, the limo was slightly farther down Elm St. than Donaldson thought it was when the first shot was fired.

I believe the shot was actually fired about one second later than Donahue recalled at frame Z148.

It appears to me Hughes quit filming just before the first shot was fired. I don't see any evidence of startled reactions by the spectators at the end of that clip.

JOHN-  You mention there being some sort of Zapruder "sight" issue. From that elevated Perch, Zapruder and Sitzman could see the JFK Motorcade turning onto Houston, traveling down Houston St, and then turning onto Elm St. So, an alleged Zapruder "sight" issue did not exist. Dan Rather told the World that the Zapruder Film he viewed the weekend of the assassination showed the JFK Limo turning onto Elm St. And Rather reported this several times. That makes Rather's reporting Not a simple slip-of-the-tongue. Rather reported what he viewed on that Z Film and he did so several times.

I wouldn't believe Rather if he told me water was wet. Even back then, Rather was a creative reporter. He was the one that reported at one school the kids cheered when they heard JFK had been shot. Well sort of. The kids were told they were being sent home early without being told why. What class of kids wouldn't cheer upon hearing that, especially on such a beautiful day weather wise that 11/22/1963 had turned out to be weatherwise.

Zapruder at first filmed over 7 seconds of essentially nothing, just the motorbikes, then he quickly shut off his camera and waited till he saw and confirmed he actually had Kennedy's Limo in his viewfinder.
As for seeing what was on Houston it seems from the first motorcycle footage that Zapruder wasn't fully aware of what was happening on Houston.
Then when we first see the Limo in Z133, the cars at this point on Houston were barely visible behind the crowd.

And as for Dan Rather, he embellishes what he saw on multiple occasions like describing Connally reaching back, something not seen. He was a reporter and is in his mind, adding detail to better describe what was happening and unlike us who have seen the Zapruder film a bazillion times and have studied and pondered every relevant frame, Dan Rather never had that opportunity. Similar to the eyewitnesses who said the Limo stopped or slowed, it either did one or the other, it couldn't do both!
