Title: Foreign Influencers on JFKA Discussions

The exposure of the KGB-planted Oslwad to HL Hunt letter is not new, but serves as a reminder that ideologues with agendas write JFK narratives, and Truth is the victim.

The Hunt Letter described by AI:

"Yes, according to evidence from KGB archives, the KGB was behind the fabrication of a letter that appeared to link Lee Harvey Oswald to CIA officer E. Howard Hunt.

Here are the key details based on the declassified files:

Fabrication Details: The KGB fabricated a forged letter, intended to look like it was written by Oswald to E. Howard Hunt, in the mid-1970s—long after the 1963 assassination.

Targeting Hunt: The goal was to implicate the CIA in the assassination by connecting Oswald to Hunt, whose name had surfaced during the Watergate investigation.

Circulation: The KGB passed these forged letters to American conspiracy theorists, including sending copies to journalists and a "well-known critic of the Warren Commission" in 1975, according to former KGB archivist Vasili Mitrokhin.

The "Hunt" Confusion: While the KGB aimed to implicate CIA officer E. Howard Hunt, public interpretation often confused this with the right-wing Texas oil tycoon H.L. Hunt, as detailed in The Sword and the Shield: The Mitrokhin Archive.

Purpose: The letter was part of a Soviet "active measures" program (a form of propaganda/disinformation) designed to deflect blame from the USSR and foster distrust in the US government.

The KGB files made available to Mitrokhin confirm this was a fabricated propaganda campaign.

In a nutshell, with some exceptions, the JFKA research community has for 60+ years been "left wing" and thus vulnerable to narratives that place blame for the JFKA on the government itself, or various powerful and nefarious groups.

The hand of Tehran is likely seen in recent JFKA narratives that assign blame for the JFKA to Israel.

Jeff Morley, one of the dons of the JFKA research community recently appeared on the the conspiretard Tucker Carlson's show, and dutifully dog-whistled that CIA'er Angleton was tight with Mossad...so you know, Mossad was in on the hit.

Caveat emptor, and draw your own conclusions.

PS You won't read this in the dis-Education Forum.

The "Dear Mr. Hunt" letter may very well be a KGB forgery, but why does Mitrokhin's "archive" (which is mostly comprised of really old "chickenfeed," say false-defector-in-place in Geneva in June 1962 / false (or perhaps rogue) physical defector to the U.S. in February 1964, Yuri "The KGB Had Nothing to Do with U-2 Radar Operator Oswald in the USSR" Nosenko was a true defector?

It seems to me to be a case of a Kremlin-loyal KGB officer (Mitrokhin) telling 98% truth and 2% lies to gullible Americans in order to protect the really important stuff.

If anyone here thinks Nosenko was a true defector, all they have to do is read a 2007 book by his primary case officer, Tennent H. Bagley, PhD.

It's titled Spy Wars: Moles, Mysteries, and Deadly Games, and you can read it for free by googling "spy wars" and "archive" simultaneously.

Enjoy!

I have reads parts of the Bagley book, and also his follow-up article.

In general, I agree, Nosenko was a phony, and there were KGB assets inside the CIA.

Bagley also reportedly said the Malcolm Blunt that LHO was likely a "witting" asset.

I wonder if this means LHO was in fact taking direction from or partnering with Bruce Solie, a KGB asset, or another KGB-G2 asset in the US intel community.

Puts a different color on the JFKA.

You're assuming that just because a KGB mole in the CIA may have sent former Marine U-2 radar operator Oswald to Moscow in 1959 on a planned-to-fail mole hunt, that same mole must have involved Oswald in the assassination of JFK.

When Malcolm Blunt showed Bagley around 2012 that someone in the Office of Security's mole-hunting Security Research Staff (where future Nosenko "clearer" Bruce Leonard Solie was Deputy Chief) arranged in advance for all of the non-CIA cables on Oswald's upcoming "defection" to be routed to said department instead of where they would normally go -- the Soviet Russia Division -- Bagley said Oswald had to have been a witting defector.

By that he simply meant that Oswald had to have been a false defector.

What neither Oswald (in 1959) nor Bagley (in 2014 when he died) realized is something that John M. Newman shows in his 2022 book, Uncovering Popov's Mole -- that Oswald was probably sent to Moscow by a KGB mole -- father-figure-requiring James Angleton's confidant, mentor, and mole-hunting superior -- the aforementioned Solie -- as an ostensible "dangle" in a (unbeknownst to Angleton and Oswald) planned-to-fail hunt for "Popov's Mole" / "Popov's U-2 Mole" (Solie) in the wrong part of the CIA -- the Soviet Russia Division.

Regarding Nosenko, why haven't you read the whole book?

Is it too complicated?

Too much agonizing "cognitive dissonance" pain and suffering?

Yeah, too complicated.

I still hold down a couple jobs, not a long time for lengthy diversions...
