Title: Knoll Film Footage With Possible Rifleman. ID Requested
Post by: Royell Storing on July 22, 2025, 04:46:44 PM
I have come across a very short Color Film Snippet of the Knoll. This snippet runs roughly 3 seconds and is buried within a JFK Assassination presentation on "You Tube". This film footage pans across the Knoll/Pergola (R-L). It gives a quick view of the area between the cement walkway leading into the shelter and the N-S picket fence. At the very end of this roughly 3 second snippet, there is what looks like a man holding a rifle in the Black Dog Man area behind the short wall. The people on the knoll filmed in this snippet are wearing 1963 style clothing. There are No Flowers on the knoll and that crowd control wire that stretched down Elm St has Not yet been put up. It is later in the afternoon, but how much later I don't know. The man with a possible rifle at the very end of this snippet is only viewable for maybe 5 frames. And he must be viewed "Frame-By-Frame". At normal speed this possible Rifleman is easily missed. I have already conferred with 3 other long time researchers that are active on this Forum. They ALL had Never seen this snippet before and felt the image of this possible Rifleman was inconclusive. I am asking this Forum for help in ID'ing who filmed this color film snippet. It could be the work of Oliver Stone. I don't know. That said, everything within this entire You Tube JFK Assassination presentation is 1st Rate. Nothing kooky or even borderline. I am asking this forum for help in ID'ing who filmed this snippet.

The film snippet runs from 2:08 - 2:11   At the 2:11 Mark, a man above the Black Dog Man spot is facing the camera. I think he is standing on top of the bench back there. A possible rifle is stretching across his chest. The barrel of this rifle is visible just above his (L) Shoulder. The light colored rifle stock rests against his (R) thigh. Please remember to view the 2:11 Mark FRAME-BY-FRAME.  I don't know what a possible shooter would be doing hanging around the Knoll after the assassination, but here this figure is. If you know who filmed this Unknown Film Snippet, please post the ID. Thanks

Duncan - Thanks for posting that still frame. Again, if anyone knows who filmed this Knoll Color Snippet, please let me know. I have talked with several knowledgeable JFK Researchers and All of them had Never seen it before.

It looks like a tripod and he's standing next to it. Perhaps shooting footage of the scene. There's a guy to the right in the grass holding a camera to his face. He has a light-colored bag hanging from his shoulder. He seems to be in both scenes [the R-L pan and then the L-R pan].

I'm guessing the same person filmed this footage hours later, perhaps late afternoon as the sun seems to be going down. Note how long the shadows are.

As for tripod guy holding a rifle, I highly doubt that. The people standing around would definitely have noticed that and would be looking at this guy if he was holding a weapon. They're not though - everyone's just milling about and talking.

So it looks like you and your other "longtime researchers" [ahem] have got it all wrong. Nothing to see.

Stabilized with a little contrast correction.

I can see what you're talking about, but I think any rifleman involved in the JFK shooting would have been long gone by the time this footage was taken.

However, on a related note, by analyzing enhanced versions of the photos taken by Phillip Willis, the HSCA’s photographic experts detected the image of a person standing behind the concrete wall on the grassy knoll and the image of a straight-line object near the region of the person’s hands:

The committee also examined information about the presence of a man near the concrete structure on
the grassy knoll near the area where some witnesses said they believed gunfire had originated.

The photographic evidence panel examined photographs made by Phillip Willis of the area of the grassy knoll
and concluded that a photograph taken by Willis did show a person standing behind the concrete wall on the
knoll. The panel determined that that photograph was taken at approximately frame 202 of the Zapruder
film, which was after President Kennedy received the neck wound but before the fatal head shot. According
to the results of the panel's photographic enhancement and analysis, the figure in the Willis photograph was
consistent with that of an adult approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet in height and wearing dark clothing.

The panel also noted that in another photograph by Willis, which was taken after the Presidential limousine
had left Dealey Plaza, the figure standing behind the concrete wall had disappeared. The panel concluded that
that movement by the object was consistent with the presence of a human being.

The photographic evidence panel also noted that in the first Willis photograph, which shows the person
standing behind the concrete wall, there is visible, near the region of the hands of the person at the wall,
"a very distinct straight-line feature," which extends from lower right to upper right. (HSCA staff report titled
Dealey Plaza Conspiracy Witnesses: Staff Report of the Select Committee on Assassinations, March 1979,

No one is sure/claiming we are seeing a Rifle here. We are asking if anyone knows WHO shot this film? Knowing who shot it would help to timeline it. How is it this Knoll film snippet has somehow been MIA for possibly 61+ years? I agree that a Rifleman hanging around the Knoll would be very strange, but why is this guy even dressed like that? Nobody on this entire snippet is dressed like that. Not even close. My initial reaction to seeing this was that maybe that guy was photo shopped into the film footage, but everything else within this JFK Assassination Presentation was absolutely Top Shelf. Hi Def images, etc. And the few frames showing this guy was buried in the middle of the presentation. At normal running speed, you totally miss seeing him. Extremely strange on multiple levels.

BUMP

Storing,

I think it's the evil, evil, evil CIA/Mafia/Corsican/anti-Castro Cuban hitman who was caught in the Zapruder film while shooting JFK and/or shooting JBC in the CHEST when JBC was turned around and waving to the patsy known as Lee Harvey Oswald in the Sniper's Nest, but the CIA ALTERED THE FILM and took that part out, and here we see him several minutes after he'd performed his dastardly Deep State / National Security State deed, hanging around to see if anyone wants his AUTOGRAPH!!!

I would caution you on choosing to Not Believe what you see because it does not make sense. You're rationalizing. Just look at that guy that was sentenced to Life for mutilating those people sleeping inside that off-campus house. Does that make any "sense" to You? Individuals such as this think and act much differently than you do. If your vision is good, trust what you see.
If you view the entire film snippet, it shows that the Picket Fence looks either somewhat new or newly varnished, shellacked or weather treated. This means the flashes of brightness we see behind (N) of Black Dog Man is the E-W picket fence. Black Dog Man is actually standing in front of (S) of the Picket Fence.  Black Dog Man is probably standing on the ground (W) of The Steps and (S) in front of the N-S picket fence. This would be the same general area that Gordon Arnold claimed he was standing while filming. The profile shape of the head of Black Dog Man on Willis 5 resembles the cap that Arnold claimed he was wearing that day. Black Dog Man on Willis 5 could easily be Gordon Arnold.
