Robert Tanenbaum Doubles Down on Lunacy

Tanenbaum believes the McCone-Rowley memo is authentic. It is clearly a fake, and it's hard to believe someone like him could have been fooled.

Here is he tripling (at least) down. He seems to have a problem with memos, not fully checking them out, verifying whether they are accurate. In the Lane book, he not only recites the questionable story about him confronting Phillips with the "Hoover Memo" on the Mexico City tapes he says that Phillips grabbed the memo from him and immediately left the room. He says he then urged the Committee to essentially go after Phillips on the matter; for possible perjury and contempt of Congress. They reportedly refused and, he suggests, the staff was punished for his actions.

And to add: the so-called "Hoover Memo" (which he never quotes) was proven to be wrong. Hoover was given erroneous information. There were no tapes sent to Dallas, e.g., see the Eldon Rudd memo. The FBI agents who were there - Hosty was one and he mentions this "tapes claim" in his book - were interviewed and said none were played for them, that they were only shown transcripts of the calls. Tanenbaum (and Lane) didn't check to see if the memo was accurate.

Think about it: Tanenbaum was a top prosecutor, well educated, Garrison was NODA, Salandria, ACLU lawyer, Lane, Gaeton Fonzi....some very smart, talented educated people here believing in craziness.

Here's Tanenbaum's account from the Lane book below. To be blunt, he's making up this confrontation with Phillips.
