Title: Marina studied English at the University of Michigan
Post by: Lance Payette on March 27, 2025, 02:58:55 PM
If I knew this, I had forgotten it. I found it in responding to one of Tom Graves' posts. A Michigan church brought Marina to the University of Michigan in late 1964 for an intensive 8-week course in English. The instructor was surprised at her command of the language. The article also has some good photos of Marina I don't recall seeing before:

Conspiracy fans will, of course, find something dark and suspicious about this. Me, not so much.

If you're not inclined to read Tom's "Lance Payette" thread - and who can blame you? - my last post there is about my Russian wife solving the "KGB school near Oswald's apartment in Minsk" mystery. The school is in a huge KGB building - I've been there! - that is indeed so close that in one photo Oswald's apartment building (I've been there too!) is visible in the background.

Conspiracy fans will, of course, find something dark and suspicious about this. Me, not so much.

But wait, my wife just sent me the website and email for the KGB! Write them and ask "So what's the deal with Oswald, huh? You can tell us, The Donald says it's OK."

My wife also just pointed out that the American Embassy is actually closer to the KGB building than Oswald's apartment was!

Convenient, eh? You're trained to be a KGB agent from 9 to 11, debriefed by the CIA from 11 to 12, and return home for lunch to your apartment that's bugged by both agencies.
