I had not heard of this before. Are there any other corroborating reports?

Colin--
That's a funny one. And this fellow Ira Walker seems to know Jack Ruby aka "Jack Rubenstein."
How many people knew Ruby's previous name back then (it was Dec. 4 1963 when Walker gave that statement).
This seems to belie the "Ruby did it on impulse" story line, and move it to "Ruby was stalking Oswald."
Of course, Ruby could still be a LN. But it is fascinating. To bad we are so late in the game. How did Walker know Ruby's birth name?

Mr. HUBERT. Did you know Jack Ruby or of his existence prior to, say, the assassination of the President?
Mr. WALKER. No; I did not.
Mr. HUBERT. Well, now, did you know Jack Ruby at all?
Mr. SMITH. No.
Mr. HUBERT. Now prior to the 23d, or the 24th, did you know a man by the name of Jack Ruby?
Mr. RICHEY. No; I never heard of him.
Mr. HUBERT. Never seen him before?
Mr. RICHEY. Never heard of him.

Colin,
Yeah, on the 24th of Nov. they didn't know who he was. He was just some guy, but by December 4th when they were interviewed by the FBI they had learned who he was. He was all over the news by then.

Which supports one side of the argument that this little crackpot was on his own.
The boss: Ok Jack head on down there and wing it. Ask around to see when their taking him out. We're counting on you.
Ruby: Who do I see ? Is there anybody to help me?
The boss: Ya, just ask one of the news guys.
Steve,
Yes, but what it also does is disprove the official story of what Ruby had been doing that morning.
If he wasn't at home, just what had he been up to?

I want a government investigation into whether Jack Ruby and Officer Tippett knew each other BEFORE the assassination. That would provide the necessary link to a conspiracy.
